Calzaghe pulled out of the Johnson fights, which set him back 4 years.

Warren tried his best to get him a Hopkins fight, got him Lacy, got him Kessler, both whilst those fighters reputations were at a high.

    Frank Warren is brilliant.

No it is most certainly not young Holmesy :-(

It's due to all the 'injuries' that Joe Calzaghe had couple with his fear of flying (unless there was a pensioner waiting to greet him on the other side of the atlantic).

If you look at Calzaghe's opponents, very few of them achieved anything after they fought Calzaghe.

To me, that either means they were never as good as they were made out to be (Kessler) or were on a run of stoppage losses (Jiminez) or shot (Jones).

    Hopkins beat him as well.

Calzaghe had all the talent but his resume and 'legacy' doesn't reflect that - it shows a decent-ish belt holder that got the right guys at the right time.

Hardly compares to a proper ATG, like a Hagler or a Hearns.

I think Hatton Promotions, GBP and Khan Promotions will happily work together. Warren might lose his top spot here... He hasn't got a fighter that will pack out the big arena's for the first time in nearly 20 years.

With respect, he was warned and warned on these forums that he hates so much, people hated the long, boring one sided cards... now they've voted with their feet and so too have his biggest fighters.

Internet forums and the knowledge of boxing fans has diminished what he can sell to the public. He needs someone young and fresh to take the healm there or FWP is in big trouble. The shows lack atmosphere. The programs are the same as they were 15 years ago, colourful, expensive and uninformative.

Fighters need an identity, they need to be cared about. That can only be achieved by fighters doing meaningful things that make people take notice. Beating memebers of the latvian crew is pointless.

Boxing needs to UFC itself up a bit.... I don't mean gay bumsex positions on the floor.... but they know how to make relevant, appealing matches.

Dunno even on easy it would be hard to beat Calzaghe with one hand, although for all the few seconds it would take you you should have your 2 hands back in no time.

:deal Very True, nailed it tbf jeff.

Dan you are right about calzaghe its just my bias, tbf calzagfhe and warren were both bad and together they got that 46-0 unblemished but unrespected record. I think khan has spoke with hatton and khan has been swayed by hattons opinion. I see a painful lawsuit, what about yourself???

Nah mate I don't really see no lawsuit. not sure about him chatting to Hatton. I spoke to Khan a while back and he told me after Salita they wanted Hatton so moving to Golden Boy may be in light of this. Still a shitty move.

well i am pretty sure the liverpool echo arena is quite big an he sold it out with a british title fight an will do so again when smith fights dodson no other british promoter could do that.Warren puts the best shows on by far unlike most of the other promoters who can barely fill small leisure centres.Warren also markets his shows very well thats why he able to fill out the big arenas as with rogan-sexton which filled out the oddysey arena and that was only a commonwealth title fight

Thats what i meant, ricky would never fight for or in association with warren, he probably spoke to khan about having his own promotions and working with gbp etc etc. If i was khan i'd keep warren sweet and still work with him when needed. No way i'd **** him off, as little old ginger nuts is a master at resurrecting careers, and once he has his chin handed to him again he will come sniffing back.

Khan wasn't happy with the offer Warren made him for the Maidana fight
I'm with Dan here, Khan should have stayed with Warren for a while longer. Remember that before Khan got the Kotelnik fight, Kotelnik was almost certain to fight Ortiz. Warren, however, offered Kotelnik more than Golden Boy and got Khan the fight. That should tell you something.
