I felt that Taylor deserved a draw at best in their first match, and a sure loss in the second. Unfortunately for Hopkins, Taylor came away with both victories. That's too bad. Hopkins has twice the legacy Taylor has. Hopkins is the FAR classier fighter. He may have started the first fight a couple rounds too late, but the outcome of these two fights fail to reflect what happened in them. Hopkins would have probably knocked Taylor out both times if they were 15 rounders. Anyway, I'm curious to know what the people think.

Hops took the 1st, Hops gave away the second. He just stood there, he could've won that fight but you can't win by looking..

i dont remember which fighter won which fight but i had taylor winning one by 1 point and hopkins the other by 1 point

  4. Look they were both close fights and unfortunately at that time HBO had high hopes for Jermaine Taylor. Maybe that is why the 2 of the 3 judges went his way in the first fight. Who knows? Bernard Hopkins is my favorite fighter. Heck he's my hometown team but he sure in hell wasn't robbed. It could've went either way in either fight.

what do u mean taylor is classier? Bhop is by far the better fighter but i dont know about classier....

Both were close fights and we should not rag on taylor for having been given the nod.
People underrate Taylor severely but that man has a stacked resume. Never shyed away from a challenge. if more fighters were like that then we would have boxing as a main stream sport again.

Hopkins won both and the boxing establishment took it from him. Taylor was HBOs golden boy and Hopkins was hated by the powers that be for his independent attitude. Well, justice has been served as Taylor has been exposed and Hopkins greatness confirmed!!!!

That's exactly how I feel. It just bothers me a bit that in years from now when people look up these two fights they will be under the impression that Taylor had Hopkins' number. I, like so many others, had high hopes for Taylor when he was on his way up, but I regret to say that he is and was far overrated and should have two less in the "W" column and two more in the "L" column. Maybe then someone more deserving could have been chosen for the Super Six tournament as well. Now, as it stands, Taylor has proven to be nothing more than a stumbling block for the whole tournament, as well as proving me right in predicting that he would need a replacement before the thing even started.

I've only seen Hopkins-Taylor I and I scored that a draw. If Hopkins started the fight like he ended it, he would've won.

It slipped away. I'd edit it if I could, because there'd be several votes for it, as it would probably be the winning choice.
