On a certain scene, reports are that Paulie is willing to face Maidana. Khan vs Judah/Campbell/Rees/Easier fight and Paulie vs Maidana on the undercard with Amir fighting the winner? Sounds good to me:good
Paulie Mallignaggi is, as the more observant amongst you will notice, one of my favourite fighters in the World. Although I can understand the criticism he recieves for certain charachter traits and fighting style no-one, and I do mean no-one, can doubt that he is always willing to fight the best. :deal
I think Paulie is starting the mind games with Khan already. Khan might get stripped of his title today if Maidana does not agree to Golden boys plans.
Once again paulie speaks his mind in an open and honest way.... Let's be real...If khan doesn't fight maidana, the public perception will precieve it as a duck.....I do think khan is a young fighter hungry and willing to fight maidana....but the past week with the comments from roach, makes me think freddie is now managing his fighers as well, not just training them....Freddie is suppossed to be a trainer nothing more... I'm not buying into the argument "khan is still young"....The problem with this is, he IS a world champion, act like one... I read the article over at the scene...and gbp has the same attitude towards paulie when they offered him the first juan diaz fight in texas, after mike alvarado pulled out against paulie...Schaefer thought Paulie would be a walk in the park for Juan Diaz, and malignaggi was supposedly a "shot fighter"....after that fight public perception thought paulie won that fight.....Now gbp is still thinking malignaggi is a walk in the park, I also get the impression roach thinks this as well, he is an opportunist of the highest degree...
Maidana is Sooo beatable... Kotelnik completely outboxed him most of the way. I know for a FACT that Maidana would have been accomodated by FWP.
Just read through that new post on the scene and i think Malinaggi should keep his mouth shut because if Khan goes ahead and fights Maidana that leaves him without an opponent . However the article is mainly around the fact Malinaggi is jelous of Khan and wants nothing to do with a GBP event featuring him and Khan he wants a co promotion incase he gets robbed again ala Malinaggi Diaz 1 .
Good luck to Paulie. He seems a great guy. Hopefully Khan gets to embarrass Maidana before Malinfaggi does though.
Jealous of khan....Its not just malignaggi-diaz 1....golden boy has a history of stacking the deck for its fighters, known fact.....If khan comes over and faces malignaggi in the states, he would be the B-side of the draw....and they have terrible matchmaking sometimes.... Paulie has a shmorgishborg of fights at 140....paulie is the NABO champion which technically makes him a contendor to be next in-line for bradley....or he can fight holt to decide the number 1 IBF contendor....paulie has plenty of opportunities....and would you want to do business with people who have a history of stacking the deck for it's fighters, that is what paulie is saying....he wants a co-promotion to ensure gale van hoy doesnt pop up ring side...
And he's a tough sonuva ***** to boot. People confuse the fact of him looking a bit of a *** with actually being one, the guy has more heart than 80% of the top fighters out there. Sure he wears it on his sleeve at times but you have to respect him. Why the hell should this fight be on the Khan undercard vs any of the possible match-ups mentioned.
Freddie Roach has always been a manager / trainer un oficcially of course , he is the one calling the shots with Pacquiao and Khan , id say Khan in particular , the Pacquiao thing is now getting a little harder for Freddie to control but you can still bet your bottom dollar he is picking Manny's opponents . Khan is a different animal from Diaz , and looking at Paulie against Hatton you would of made Diaz the favourite going into that fight anyway , however it didnt work out like that , i think one assumption can be made though on GBP 's and Freddie's part is that they are considering Paulie a better option for Khan than Maidana and that could be a mistake .
If Paulie has that many options and is that well known why is he worrying about Khan and the head way he may or may not make in the US , its basically a what about me rant from Malinaggi !!!!! I was not saying Paulie was wrong to want the co promotion i was mereley stating that that's mainly what the article was about . atsch
How is he jealous is what you brought upatsch He was asked questions from a boxing writer, and he gave his opinion in an open and honest way as he could....the writer asked do you think khan is ducking maidana? he said absolutely....people have this misconception that paulie goes out on his own and says these things...It's always in interviews he get's asked questions and speaks his mind...
Also, Paulie has obviously benefited from leaving McGirt. He seemed to be on a downward spiral following poor performances against Ngoudjo, NDou 2 and Hatton, but has picked himself back up.
If Khan's going to duck Maidana then PM should look at fighting him for the vacant belt and bollocks to Khan. He (Khan) needs to have a think about this, he could find himself with no'one significant to fight for quite a while.
" Manny Pacquiao is on steroids " was that in an interview , the man is banging on about Khan when he hasnt even fought on US soil , it stinks of jealousy , nobody is disputing the fact Paulie is the more credible fighter in the US above Khan , thats not up for debate , so what is his problem , the fact that Khan has been signed by GBP and not him ???? Fact is after he fights Khan he wont have too much to say other than what the **** just happened there..................... erm you just got KO'd Paulie !!!!!!!!!!! :deal
