You would have to say great given the fact Vitali was hungry and motivated where as Lewis was out of shape and unmotivated but yet still put was able to take control of the fight as the the fight progressed.

The win where Lewis munched up Vitali's face so much that he couldn't continue. Keep up.

    It was good.

There is a myth going round that Lewis was ill conditioned, he was ready to fight Kirk Johnson remember, it wasnt as though he just came off the street to fight Vitali.

Also i think Lewis underestimated Vitali believeing that he would just walk in there and blow him away.

Another also after Lewis beat Tyson people were saying how he was still in his prime....like a fine wine getting better with age, etc, etc.

Then he is in a hard fight with Vitali and people then claim he was old, out of shape etc.

Bollocks to it all it was a good heavyweight slugfest which had a dissapointing ending (i.e. cut finish).

Guys, I like Vitali, but FFS, why is it that a TKO for everyone else counts but not Vitali? Technical Knockout...is a knockout. He shredded his face and it was necessary to stop the fight. Did you see his GD eye? That's a knockout. I'm sorry the rules of boxing didn't go your way but it's time to accept Vitali Klitschko was stopped and Lewis won via fair and square knockout.

    won on a intangible.

if lewis would of rematched him like he should have he would have taken a dirt nap. **** man lewis tried to sue tyson for a 2nd fight but as soon as vitali was made the mandatory and lewis was ordered to fight him he retired instantly the next ****ing day.

You only have to look at him and register what he weighed to see he wasn't in very good condition.

It was a very good win against a proven very tough opponent. Nobody has come close to doing that to vitali, look at the efforts of the likes of safety pin and crybaby recently, not pretty

Yes he weighed heavy but who's fault is that?

Lewis nearly suffered from his ego again as in the Rahman fight where he thought he was leagues above his opponent.

Lewis was fighting a soft touch in Johnson that fell through and he went to fight Klitschko, i think props should be given to both fighters for taking the fight on short notice with each other.

Klitschko outjabbed Lewis and i thought he was the stronger fighter aswell, Lewis did well not to be taken out in the 2nd round.

As i said before it was a good slugfest.

    Inconclusive.

IMO, Vitaly was winning the fight at the time of the iffy stoppage!

It was indeed a good slugfest, I don't think there's been a better fight at the weight since. Vitali's stock quite rightly went up as he performed better than expected and I give him all the credit in the world for putting up a very good fight.
Obviously it's Lewis' fault that he was overweight and not in the best shape, I just think it's ridiculous to try to say that he wasn't.

So when do you stop a fight, when the eyeball falls out? Vitali had two large, deep gashes on his eyelid...get that his eyelid, not his eyebrow, his eyelid, one or two more punches and those cuts could have joined up, that would mean he was in a very real danger of his eyelid falling off his face.

lewis was about 80 percent of his best in the fight. vitali was at his best possible condition yet the fight was pretty much even, maybe with vitali shading it

lewis would have killed vitali if he was at his best

Not arguing with the stoppage. The fight could have been stopped a bit earlier or even latter(therefore "iffy").
