Schaefer: Mayweather vs. Mosley is my next order of business

    "That is a super fight, and now my next order of business -- to see if we can put [Mosley-Mayweather] together,..That is what I am going to be doing in the coming hours. The sooner the better if we can get this potential fight done. With Shane now being available and Floyd being available, that's a fight all fight fans and sports fans would embrace. This would be a huge showdown. Shane has wanted that fight for awhile. That's what I am going to try to do."

    There's a certain Mayweather basher on this site who's hoping that this fight doesn't happen. He made a lifetime ban bet with me that this fight would never happen back in December. He knows who he is. Given what happened with Mayweather and Pacquiao, I will wait until they both enter the ring against each other before enforcing the bet. Hopefully, this fight gets done(completely) soon. We don't need another circus.

    I'm trying not to get excited till the contracts are signed but i have wanted to see this fight for over 10 years so its not easy (mind you it would have been far better back then). I just hope they get it done as soon as possible, preferable for march

    "I know this is the fight Shane wanted and I know it is a fight Floyd wanted as well," said Schaefer to ***********.com. Golden Boy promotes Mosley and has a working arrangement with Mayweather. "So now I'm going to work and see if we can put that fight together."

    Schaefer and Golden Boy still have the MGM Grand reserved for March 13 for Mayweather. But Schaefer wouldn't say whether Mosley-Mayweather would fill that date, or a different one, such as May 1.

    "I think the first thing is going to be to see if a deal structure can be done, and then worry about the date," Schaefer said. "Floyd Mayweather against Shane Mosley is one of the biggest fights in the sport. They are two superstars, it would be a pick-em fight.

    "The date will fall into place, but the first thing is to find a deal structure that is acceptable to everyone. That is what I'm working on."

    If floyd said he wanted it, then that is really good news.
    Plus he can't be outdone by Pacquiao.
