Last week I read on a thread that Ricardo Lopez' son in now boxing and that he oloks solid. I was thrilled to hear this, but I heard the same about J.C. Chavez Jr. and to this day he has yet to look like his father on his worst days. So I looked for video and found a clip. In the clip I found a fighter that has skill, movement, and intelligence beyond his years. A solid prospect that eventually make themselves known in the lightweight division. One thing to note that he is cautious, he hurt his opponent and did not try to finish him when he could.

Either way I would not be surprised if he earned a title.

The similarities to his father...are insane.

Nacho Beristain was getting kinda Ellarbe-esque with that pre-fight rub down.

Very interesting. Looks like he could add more weight to his frame as well. How old is this kid/guy?

He certainly patterns his style after his father's. A bit more cautious than he should've been perhaps. His opponent obviously had his ribs replaced with glass sculptures early in his life. I'd like to have seen him set up a few more of those body shots with a nice 1-2 once he'd gotten him hurt. Other than that he has a nice style, though obviously still very green and rough around the edges. We'll have to wait and see. You can't predict anything from that.

I don't know if I'd call him a clone, but he certainly picked up a lot from his father's style. Not sure he has the same natural talent though from what I've seen.

He looks almost exactly like him, his style looks the same too. Pretty strange

Again, not criticising because he's obviously very green, but while he throws his punches with textbook form similar to his father's, he doesn't follow through with them nearly as well.

    Great Mexican eye candy. :thumbsup

As far as Alonso goes, he does have a similar style to his father, but he hasn't quite mastered how to rip full leverage underneath his shots like his father did. Solid technical base though.. and maybe the punching leverage will come to him over time.

Considering that was his second fight he has time to improve.

3:10---pretty reminiscent of what his father used to do.

I wasn't even aware of this kid till they showed his last fight on some spanish channel a while back. Had to do a double-take cause for a moment there I thought they were showing footage of an early Finito(Sr.) fight!

According to the vid his record was 6-0 with 5 KO's prior to that fight. I suppose that would make him 7-0 now. Either way I wasn't insinuating differently. I was just saying you can't jump to any conclusions based off of that. He'll have to prove himself first. People are too quick to jump to conclusions these days.

Not intended that way. I apologize if it came off that way.

His Boxrec shows 2-0 and the video shows 7-0 either way not bad

    Damn.
Another upcoming Mexican talent. Not the typical Mexican fighter. He reminds me of JMM.

I think he is very good for his experience level.
