Saw Manny up close a few times. No way he's 5'6.5. He's 5'4 and maybe 5'5 with shoes on. Looking at pictures of Oscar De La Hoya with other people leads me to believe that he is no way 5'10.5" as listed. More like 5'8" - 5'9". It's probably done for all boxers since they all look similar when it comes to differences in height when standing next to each other. Anyone here meet other pro boxers in person and said to yourself, "Man, this guy is shorter than I thought". This is common practice in the NBA.

From what I read Paul Williams is advertised shorter than real height to avoid questions of him being in the welterweight division (before). From what I can see in your profile picture Paul looks 6'3" as I've read before! He's been advertised mostly as 6'2". I was told by someone who knows Yuri Foreman that Yuri was a legit 5'11" and that was the reason Pac did not want the fight. Can you imagine Pac vs. Paul? I can't. Don't want to see Spud Webb fighting Manute Bol either.
:nono Ive met both fighters (Oscar many) and Pac is 5-6 tops Oscar is about 5-10. I will tell you that Shane adds at least an inch to his height He is 5-8 tops! Mccallum was shorter than i thought. hes 5-10 tops. Bob Foster is still tall dont thinkk he has shrunk with age either he is still 6-4. Ricardo Lopez seemed as tall as Pac Hopkins is a legit 6-1. No exaggeration there. Vargas seemed like 5-9 not 5-10 as listed.
It's an optical illusion. Most boxers in the same weight class are around the same height. I was at the Ortiz/Maidana fight and stood next to oscar/vargas/mosley and they were all shorter than me, and i'm like barely 5'10" I'm sure they would kill me, but they are not very big men.
IVe met all three of them many times and im 5-9 Oscar is a little taller, Vargas the same,and Mosley is definitly at least an inch shorter, He has a pointy head which might make him 5-8 or else hed be 5-7.
Look at his posture in that pic, though. It's almost like he's leaning into with his head slumped down. I get the feeling if he weren't, he'd actually be slightly taller than you. Then again, maybe it's just me. P.S. You're ****ing cute :love
