If Floyd and Manny both lose...

if i beat him people will say he's been beat already, if i knock him out people will say he's been knocked out already. i'm in a know win situation

 

depends how they lose, if either get knocked out- theyd take a big hit, if its close then thats cool, especially for pac - cos he is fighting the bigger guy. if its cos they engage- they ll be even enhanced- if you run to a loss, you lose your rep. its not a matter of what- but how.

look at guys like bernard and oscar, they ve lost a lot but their reps are intact pretty much- whereas joe hasnt lost but i dare say his rep isnt as built as those two. of course their are other factors like competition in that example- so not perfect - but u get my point.

 

This is what i've been thinking yesterday, would it affect their supposedly 40 million incomes if ever they fight after losing against their respective opponents?

he's been protecting that '0' for a while and been using that during the purse split, now he got nothing to brag abt except for being a "ppv-draw"

But to answer the question, after they both lose (and they will) boxing will be in a better place. And hopefully their stock will plummet to that of everyone else. Then maybe we will have a lot of good fights at 147.

Berto, Mosely, Clottey, Cotto, Pac, PBF, Paul, Margo, and anyone else who has actually earned the right to be at the top of the division will be able to fight each other without the *****-ass risk/reward excuses.

 

Floyd takes a much bigger hit. Pacquiao is playing with the house's money at this point and his stock cannot go lower no matter who he loses to north of JWW since he shouldn't even be this high. Floyd on the other hand has protected his 0 for too long (although not as long as most people argue) and if he loses now, especially to an old guy like Shane, cue the claims that Floyd was never great, he just fought people who would make him look good and avoided anyone who would make him look bad.

 

Just show them the 147 landscape thread you had.

Floyd. He's been too focused on that "0" that with that gone, he loses a lot of credibility not to mention the psychological hit it would deal to his confidence.

Pac's lost before and has rebounded from it so I know he can recover from that, not to mention the fact that him being competetive in 147 is a feat in itself.

 

Manny's stock will drop the most. I honestly think Mayweather would get more offers. At this point he is just too good. Everyone would want his name on their resume. Manny would probably just be called a fluke and disappear.

 

Pacquiao, because nobody knows who Clottey is. If Mayweather lost to Mosley, well, no shame in that because Mosley is a legend and everybody knows who Mosley is.
