Do you think Mosley has what it takes to beat Mayweather?

Kind of a loaded question. Any boxer on this level could pull off the upset. Asking will is another story.

Mosley is well past his best. I know it almost sounds blasphemous to say that since his last fight was a dominant win over Margarito... but I can't forget the Mayorga fight where Shane was barely beating Mayorga before he knocked him out in the 12th. I hope Shane proves me wrong, but I think PBF will win a clear but not dominant UD.

This fight is being made (if it gets made) for 3 reasons:

    1. Floyd punked out on the Pac fight, he has to save face
    2. Shane is 38 years old
    3. Mosley lost to Cotto

If any of the 3 things above weren't true/didn't happen, the fight isn't being discussed by Team "We Fear Pacquiao". But PBF thinks Shane is just old enough and Floyd feels he can use Cotto's late-round tactics to beat Mosley, plus he has to get the Pac duck off his rep. Good news for fight fans.

What o_money said is right: Floyd cannot fight the fight Cotto did and beat Mosley. He's not strong enough and can't hit hard enough, often enough to keep Shane off of him. So that means, to me, that Floyd will have to try to do what Cotto did for the final 4 rounds all fight in order to try to win the bout.

I felt Mosley won the Cotto fight, and I thought Cotto ran for the last four rounds after Mosley hurt Cotto to the body in like Round 9. Mosley better get good judges who favor aggressive fighters, that would be my advice to him. Or else, he could find himself on the bad end of a run-and-pot-shot UD or SD.

On a side note, if Mayweather does not have Shane do full blood and urine testing, Mayweather's credibility will be zero in the sport and with the public. I think most know that Floyd didn't want the Pac fight, but Floyd at least better try to make it look good to the public or else he will suffer even further damage to his already-hurting reputation.

To answer the TS' question, yes, I think Mosley has the right stuff to beat Mayweather, even at 38 years old.

At some point in the fight SSM is likely to catch Floyd and unless Floyd can deal with that and avoid more damage, he's going to get dropped and/or stopped.

Cotto is the only smaller fighter who "beat" Mosley, and Cotto is just stronger and hits harder than PBF. I don't think Floyd can hurt Mosley, at all. That is going to be a real problem as the fight goes on for PBF.

Mosley is bigger and much stronger than Floyd. Mosley is a unique physical talent, even at 38 years old. I don't know if he will beat Floyd if a fight is made, but he is capable of doing so, even now.

    Floyd is ducking Pacquiao.

Floyd is picking SSM because SSM is 38, among other reasons.

Could he pull of an upset?

    Definitely.

I favour Floyd by decision though.

Shane has a lot of the tools needed, but I don't think he can still use them effectively enough. In his prime I'd favor Shane slightly, now I think it's a long shot.

Hey dumb ass, let me ask you something; right now you have a Muhammad Ali as your avatar. When Ali was 38 he was fighting Larry Holmes.

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AJtlDvKku50[/ame]

And he obviously looked like **** in one of the saddest moments in boxing history. But saying that Ali's age had anything to do with that would just be an excuse, right? Ali was always an overrated bum who fought like that, right? I mean, it's not like a pro and amateur fighter spending 30 years getting hit will have any possible effects on them or anything...

any man with two hands has what it takes to beat mayweather, beating them and having what it takes are two different things.
