Is Cotto a B level fighter too? If Floyd was so confident in beating PAC why demand extra testing and accuse him of being a cheat by using PEDs or Roids? IF Floyd honestly felt the way his mouth portrayed he wouldn't have demanded any tests and wouldn't have said anything about pac using PEDs....he would have taken the fight...50/50....gotten the easy pay day and rode off into the sunset with his most important and financially rewarding payday.

INstead he talked all this **** about what he'd do to PAC and how PAC wasn't close to his level ....."PAC ain't ****"...."PAC would get outclassed" ect..ect..ect.. Then when Floyd knew PAC was going to be a fight that was in demand after his destruction of Miguel, Floyd switched tunes by contradicting his previous comments about how "EASY" pac would be and that all PAC needed to do was say his name and the fight would be as good as done......atsch That ain't happen at all...PAC said his name and agreed to the date they wanted and then came up with these accusations about Roids and PEDs then made demands to ultimately kill the fight. Floyd didn't want the fight.....I doubt he thought PAC would take the fight in March and had to come up with an "OUT" which came in form of blood testing demands. It worked.

 

Why? Clottey has no notable wins and is coming off a loss to a guy that Pacquiao beat the **** out of, and this is going to be on PPV. I think this is a solid matchup, but it is a joke in the sense that it's being pushed as a major fight.

 

You can't be serious. Floyd offered to fight him in either March or May. Pac is the one who picked out the date. If Floyd didn't want the fight then why would he offer a 14 day testing window when Roach claims they only needed 7 days? Why is Floyd now on the verge of fighting a guy many claim is the top WW while Pacquiao is fighting a second tier WW who is coming off a loss to the same guy that Pac just destroyed?

1. Pacquiao didn't duck, your boy Floyd ruined the fight by trying to pull off that BS test. Had he not done that the match would still be done.

2. It's amazing that Floyd hasnt fought a ligit Welterweight since 2006 and that's ok, but Manny pulls out of the match and that was the duck of the century.

clottey isnt a joke but clottey has come up short in his biggest fights vs. cotto, margo. there is no reason to sugget that the same thing wont happen vs. pacquiao. he give pac some trouble but evetually pac will win by a decision when clottey fades. this is what has happen to clottey in hs past fights. has oac lost soem credibility? some what. you suppose to be the best fighter in the game yet you're afraid to give blood 2 weeks before a fight. not a good look

Agreed except for the last part about pac cherry picking. Everyone knows fighting clottey is on par with fighting mosley, berto or cotto. Clottey might have lost to cotto but he looked better than cotto doing so. I had clottey winning but wasn't mad about the decision. Clottey is as respected as anyone at WW Period.

 

I never said Pac cherry picked anyone. However, Clottey is a second tier WW. His best win was a against a faded Judah. He'll give a lot of people tough fights, but he's not elite.

 

If Floyd offered a fight in May I had no idea. The fact was.....PAC initally rejected March 13th and was about to move on. At some point they finally said "OK"...March 13th will be fine. Negotiations started and everything seemed to go through without any problems....the split was EVEN which was considered the BIGGEST obstacle in making this fight....BOY were we all wrong.

The question should be asked if Floyd really wanted the fight....why create the rumors and demand the extra drug testing to begin with. Especially when they have no basis for making these accusations and given the fact that this was set to be the highest grossing fight in the history of the sport.

The reason I feel that Floyd didn't want the fight is b/c Floyd has always stated he had NO problems with PAC as an opponent and that he'd easily beat the brakes off the kid. We also know MONEY is about his paper.....$40 Mill on the line and you want to make these kinds of demands that are unpresidented in this sport.....WHY risk the chance at loosing $40 mill when the fight is an easy payday for Floyd as him and everyone else in his camp has said?

Roch said they only needed a 5 day window....but Manny doesn't like Floyd at all and doesn't respect Floyd as a man. Due to the fact that Floyd has set in motion a **** storm to defame PAC's character and accomplishments for no reason and without evidence to support his accusations. PAC doesn't want to allow floyd to dictate the conditions on facing him when Floyd has acted in a way that was irresponsible pertaining to Mannys reputation.

Floyd is facing Shane due to Berto falling out of their fight. Floyd is taking Shane on b/c he has to step....Nate, Bradely and Paulie were not going to cut it when PAC was stepping up to face a BIG WW and a dangerous one in Josh. I'm proud of Floyd stepping up to fight Shane! It's a better fight than PAC vs Josh....BUT...the fight with May and PAC should have been on in March and I feel Floyd got out of the fight for one reason or the other.

 

I'm sorry, but you're not making much sense to me. First off, the March was only proposed because of Pacquiao. Everyone wanted it done in May, but they all settled for March in order to accomidate Pac who wants to run for office. Second, the drug testing clause was in the contract for weeks before Pac complained. Roach said he welcomed any testing and that they agreed on the blood testing. Then out of nowhere Roach said they needed a 5 to 7 day window. They eventually got a 14 day window and rejected it. Now you're telling me that Pac rejected this because he doesn't like Floyd. If Floyd really didn't want the fight, why didn't he come up with more demands after team Pac agreed to the blood testing? Why did he agree to the $10 mill per lb. penatly? Surely, this would've been a great way for him to get out if he really didn't want the fight. Why did comprimise with a 14 day testing window which was a week more than what Roach asked for?

On the other hand, if Pac really wanted the fight, why did his team try to go back on their agreement to olympic style testing? Why did Arum blatantly lie about what happened druing the mediation session?
