Ive read what all the good people have said about Khan and his Trainer Roach stating they would vacate the title if he had to fight Madaina.......maybe this was the true thoughts of Freddie at the time.....maybe he was leading other camps and fighters into getting a false sense of there own abilities and heart when they size up Khan?

A puncher against a boxer. We all want to see it. Khan is the champ and hasnt ducked like others we know......Freddie knows the danger involved in this fight,so i expect to see a focused and well prepared Khan handling Maidana in a clinical fashion until he wins by UD........Maidana is a beast of a puncher and a win against him isnt a cakewalk for any fighter. He has a punchers chance of winning in any round.Great to see this calibre of fight is happening!:happy:bbb:thumbsup

Khan will have a dose of the collywobbles heading into the ring for that one, who knows what will happen, should be interesting, fair play if he does take the fight

This fight should take place in the UK to be honest..

If Khan is looking for an advantage then UK is the place to fight.

    Advantage:

Being in front of home crowd - Could possibly overwhelm Maidana (As it did to Salita)
The crowd would really start getting behind Khan and Maidana might start making stupid mistakes.

    Disadvantage:

Khan might start to feel too comfortable and not keep to his task.

Maidana hasn't faced a fighter like Khan. Maidana's fought fighters that will come front within his range and fight - Khan won't do that. His jab will come into play a lot in this fight and I see a:

    Khan UD or TKO 5-12

it's got nothing to do with race, i wish talk of it being to do with race would stop. for a lot of people it's because he got so hyped early on, and then kept get dropped by fighters he shouldn't be getting dropped by.

also his cocky attitude and some of the things he says like that he would have been a bigger star had he been white when the truth of it was that he was a huge star in the uk and massively hyped before his first pro fight just after the olympics. how many other fighters of his age and inexperience have had ppv fights in the uk? he probably will be become a big star in the future but that's something you earn and at the time of his comment he hadn'r earnt it.

but as far as this fight goes, i was disapointed when i heard he wasn't fighting maidana but now it looks like it's heppening i hope and think he should be ok and outbox him to a ud.

    TWO SCENARIOS

    1) Khan swerves maidana or trys to pay him off to 'build their fight' thus Khan fights and bum and Maidana is matched very tough (say Ortiz rematch) in a fight they all hope he fecking loses to avoid fighting him.

    2) He does fight him and gets his clock cleaned inside 5 rounds.

    Paxi for Amir !!

    :good

It will be interesting to see just how Amir does in this fight. Maidana is almost certain to catch him with a "Good un" during the fight. And I do not believe that Amir has the power to dissuade Maidana!

No matter, I agree with Tommy's post. The fact that Khan is fighting a bigger and harder punching version of the guy who flattened him in under a minute a year or so ago shows not only balls, but confidence!! I guess we will find out if his confidence is mis-placed (Being British, I hope it is not).

P.S I was one of the many "Doubters" regarding whether this fight would actually take place, so I guess I have done the guy a dis-service!

agree with u on this. hate these ****ing idiots always pulling the race card like that artilce written in the news page about it yestoday. think khan can totally outbox him if he sticks to his game plan and maybe even stop him late. i also thought khan wud be willing to fight any of the light-welters at the mo except bradley (who he cud face at the end of the year) if it wasnt for frank warren protecting him. sometimes it aint the fighter who's bottling the fights:bbb

He was heavily booed fighting against Barrera and was heavily booed again by his countrymen in Vegas during Hatton – Mayweather weigh in.
There was also a time when he was attending a local amateur fight in UK when he was chased by a racist mob and had to be rushed out for security. I’m not sure if I can post links to other boxing sites, here but you can google. This happened a few years back. In this day and age, it alone is shocking enough that a mob would shout racial slurs at a sportsman let alone physically attack him and all at an amateur boxing tournament.

I think when Khan said about not being as popular due to he color of his skin, he was little taken back by some of these incidents. He later retracted from it.

I think Kahn will win by K.O, then he can fight Ortiz.

for 1 barrera is a legend and a peoples champ. khan USED TO BE disliked because of all the hype and money he received with acheiving anything while other boxers dont hardly have a pot to **** in have done alot more. he was booed at the weigh in the hatton pac but is gradually winning the fans round now he is taking harder fights:bbb
