Its Manny F'n Pacquiao. It will sell. Especially since Floyd's too scurred to fight on the same date.

Why is it on PPV? Because Pacman is a superstar, that's why. Clottey isn't a P4P star but he is one of the best WW's in the world, bar none.

How many PPV buys did Pacquiao do against David Diaz? People are pissed that the Mayweather fight never came off. Now Pac is fighting a much lower profile guy who happens to be coming off a loss to a guy Pac just destroyed. Let's also not forget that there isn't much time to promote this fight. This fight should be on regular HBO. However, Top Rank needs to try to generate as much money as possible considering that they are going to have to pay Pac 8 figures.

Let's stop here and think for a second shall we?

What did Pacman do SINCE that Diaz fight? The stuff of legends. He has increased his appeal to the general public by so much since that fight.

If the PPV tanks, then your opinions will be valid. But until then, it's only a guess. Besides, this is a legit WW. He continues to take on big challenges.

The fight right before David Diaz, Pac generated almost 500k buys against Marquez. That dipped down to around 200k vs. Diaz. Do you really think the general public thinks this is much of a challenge for Pac? I think it's a good fight. However, most know very little about Clottey. He has no built in fanbase. I'm sure what most people remember most about is that he lost to Margo and Cotto.

The stupidity of some people just never ceases to amaze me.

Now, we are discrediting Pacman's amazing run.

    Pathetic.

If Pac can make 23 million fighting Cotto, he can make 10 million fighting Clottey without breaking Arum's back

    safe assumption?.

Clottey can be inconsistent but he's very tough, talented, and dangerous; also the best available and highest ranked opponent at the time. Manny may be favored but it won't be an easy fight by any means.
