if the fight with mosley goes through

Floyd will still be accused of "ducking the best"..he will hold that title regardless of who he fights...FIGHTING A KLITTIE BROTHER WON'T GET THAT TITLE REMOVED

 

In my eyes Mosley is Floyd's best opponent since Castillo who was a very dangerous fighter in his prime. So its definately a step in the right direction. I don't think Floyd is scared of anyone but he has a knack for fighting fighters that noone expects him to fight. In this case he is fighting the best option available which is great.

 

The fact that Floyd-Mosley hasn't already been signed and confirmed Floyd is a ducker of the highest magnitude. To be frank this is already bull****. We all know how desperate Shane is for the fight and if Floyd has any balls he would want the fight too given that it is the only, repeat, ONLY legitimate fight for him out there. The longer this whole process gestates the worse it looks for Floyd, since if he was really disappointed the fight with Pacquiao fell through, if he really wanted to stick it to Manny, then he would take this fight which would obviously crush the Pac/Clottey fight for PPV numbers. If he had any intention of fighting Pacquiao ever he would realise this is vital since he will have another huge bargaining chip come negotiation time.

Floyd has been given not one but two silver platters in that first Mosley became available after Pac had committed to a lesser opponent in Clottey and second, thanks to an abysmally conditioned/prepared Margarito somehow everyone has fooled themselves into thinking a version of Sugar Shane that struggled with Mayorga and is almost 40 is "the man at WW" and nothing short of his prime.

If Floyd is half the fighter that he says he is he would take this fight with Mosley in an instant. He would have masturbated to the news that Berto had dropped out. You know that Pacquiao would have taken this fight in a heart beat.

I desperately, desperately hope that Mosley spanks Floyd but come on there is virtually no chance of that happening at all. My hopes are not even with Shane, they are with Brother Nasim, that he can come up with some genius plan. But a very, very tough fight for Shane nonetheless.

And why the hell is Floyd so quiet all of a sudden?

Anyone who thinks Floyd ducks the best fighters is an idiot. For starters, he should probably be at 140, and at 147 he has a very good resume (Judah, Hatton, DLH, Baldomir). Those are top fighters who were considered threats.

And Pac gets a lot of credit for beating Hatton and DLH when Floyd did it first.

Fighting Mosley should stop ANY hate, really. Mosley is THE MAN at 147 right now.

 

No. that would require rational thinking and when talking about fanboys and flamers you can never get a fair shake. He will always be an easy target to pick on because he is overly boastful. their will always be detractors that will have their own personal agenda as to why he is just an above average fighter with a padded record.

The Mosley fight in my opinion is actually the better fight for him at 147 for "legacy" and the Pac fight is the best for the cash and fans.

 

i just read an interesting article im mxb and raises some questions about gbp figthers ,mosley strugle whit mayorga and then look superb against a dehidrated margarito if the fight happen floyd will prabobly will walk away whit a ud lest face it mosley is almost 40 as good as he has been all his life the man is old unles hes on some kind of super suplement

 

:? That's one hell of a discredit to SSM. How do you figure he was abysmally conditioned/prepared for Shane? He fought like he always does and just got his ass handed to him by the better fighter. If he were in abysmal condition, he wouldn't have been able to endure 1/3 of the punishment he took from SSM.

 

Floyd won't get full credit if he beats Shane. Everyone is excited about this, but if Mayweather wins - which I think he'd too relatively easily - there is NO way he'd get all that much credit from the majority of people. People act like Mosley is the greatest challenge for him out there...please. The Margarito fight was the fight time Mosley looked good in quite a while, unless you want to count Vargas...in my opinion, there are currently 2 and ONLY 2 guys who'd boost Floyd's credibility if he should beat them...Pacquiao and Williams.

 

"Rumors" that Floyd ducks fighters?

The only people that say he ducks fighters are haters which are like 60% of the boxing public. They said Floyd ducked Baldomir, Judah, Hatton, Pacquiao, Mosley. Then he beat 3 of them and the other 2 ducked him, and now hes gonna beat both of em.

The Mosley fight is a big opportunity for May like someone up there said. For 2 reasons:
1. Floyd should score an easy win against somebody who everybody's claiming is the best natural WW out there, even though it's ridiculous.
2. The Berto fight being cancelled means Shane doesn't get to show how overrated he is before the May fight.

 

i think he will get credit for it but a lot depends on how shane does after. when calzaghe beat hopkins he got denied the credit he deserved but when hopkins schooled pavlik calzaghe's victory looked a lot more impressive.

and by fighting Judah who just got his ass kicked by a "baldomir" didnt do a thing for his legacy..."hmmm let me fight judah, even though he just lost to an uknown...."
hatton was a decent win, even though his claim to fame is beating an old kostya tszyu

1) paul williams
2) Cotto
3) Margarito

he had a chance to fight all of them but fought a shot gatti, a shot dlh, so shut up, you know **** about boxing

i dont really think it will change much. to be honest, shane IS old and past it. sure he is still a force even though he was at his best many years ago.
i dont know why so many of you feel that any type of criticism of floyd amounts to hating. try being honest about him as a boxer and you too may find a thing or two worth questioning. sure, blind hating is ignorant. but so is blind nut hugging.
