That would be good, Lindsay would have a very slight edge in speed, but John would grind him down I reckon, back him up and batter him to the body to slow him down. If it happens hopefully it happens in scotland cause its a bear pit over there!

i watch the appleby fight at home and i must agree i thought it was a poor performance for john and he has improved ten fold last year and would be a different fight now but young appleby cannot be underestimated as he is a talented boxer as well and may have the hunger again and the desire to prove he was as good as the sports writers thought he was its a 50-50 fight for me i like both boxers and it will come down to preparation i like billy and danny and i believe appleby is going to terry maccormack now
so he have good sparring with alex A tiff josh john thain so i hope they get it on

I've never rated Appleby and Lindsey showed him up, I would take Simpson to beat Lindsey although it wouls be an all out war.

Good stuff Billy. Would be a great scrap. You could enjoy your Guinness with a nice slice of humble pie... Haha! I know you rate Paul Mc Closkey highly so you clearly have some sense!

Gilmore was always happy to send his fighters to the lions den whether or not they were the champ. He also pushes them forward too fast.

Hear what your saying bud, but sometimes you need to take a chance and go for it, and the fighter can always say that they dont fancy it, nobody gets forced to fight remember. Paul obviously thought he would handle Lindsay, but just fell short on the night, it might give him the kick up the arse he needs.

Typical Gilmore, pushing a good prospect too far too fast. I think if Appleby is looking really long term into his future he should join up with Lindsay at Hayemaker promotions. Haye and Hatton seem to be the only really progressive promotions in Britain, if he goes to Warren his next ten fights will be against Vladimir Drjyokskivistkanzhbradov or similar Latvian plumbers with 4-16-0 records.

Appleby has huge holes in his game but he is still very young and can develop into a real British/European talent.
