For running I think it depends on the terrain, I would not do it on asphalt but on a very rough surface a pair of army boots will protect your ankles. For skipping? I think you'd have painful knees and ankles within minutes. Your timing will also be off, and I can't see how it will do any good. The bigger question I guess is, what do you expect it will do?
I thought the skipping aspect might be a little too far fetched. I just want to be light on my feet, kinda going for a Hagler approach.
I cant see it being a good idea tbh i know some pros have done it, but iv always seen it as more of a gimmick?? Imo you need the right type of proper running shoes for the shape of your feet and the terrain your running on. And run! Dont plod along. Get the most out of your runs
Biomechanicaly theres a lot to be said for Boots. The sole is wide and gives the metasarples room to spread protecting the Knee.
I disagree. It takes away all stabilisation from the foot and ankle muscles, and makes being on your toes impossible.
How bout facial muscles? Will they help me hold my balance? I kinda think my ears don't matter much either. For a start that is. :smoke
Big toes are actually pretty damm important. Ears not so much, just inner ear which is a different organ altogether in essence.
Rep that is true, just trying to keep it short, only got one finger , hate typing. But Boots actually help the plant of the Foot, and Help the Knee to work as it should. My lot dont use them, nor do I. Do a lot of work with people that run, Runners and Soccer Players. Theres an underlying problem with most of them, which is trouble with flexability between the 1st and 2nd Toe because of Footware, causing Knee problems. With Boots it doesnt happen. Talking of Balance try this . Stand on your dominant leg with the other leg raised. Balance, now try it with your dominant eye shut .
