Hey not sure whats going on with this but this has been put up on the WBF official site Botah been stripped for not defending in time!

The World Boxing Foundation executive has decided to vacate the WBF World Heavyweight Title due to the champion Francois Botha not defending within the agreed time limit. Three months have elapsed since this expired and no further defence intentions have been provided. Furthermore there is substantial interest in the title by other deserving contenders and this will allow such applications to be considered. We wish Mr Botha all the best in his future endeavours and thank him for his time with the WBF.

Well not sure what happens from here for Frans? Will evander still want this fight? We wait to see if this fight actually come off!??

 

Considering this fight is supposed to be in about a months time there seems to be actually no advertisement of it at all. The only update i can see is the wbf stripping Botha of the title for not defending in time. Makes me think this fight may now not happen. I hope i am proven wrong.

 

I think i maybe the only one who actually does want to see it. Which is fair enough i suppose. I dont really see the point in stripping it of him in the first place then. Mind you it is the very important WBF title.

 

That is true. However the winner may well get themselves in line for a real championship shot. I do think if they do get this on it should be a good tussle between to old timers. I will concede the loser should retire.

 

Why which fight was the you bet on Botha? What fights did have on your accumalator?

I dont think he has too much left but i do think he may have a chance of giving a couple more good fights. And if he beats holy he could well get a title shot.

 

Hello Mr White, good to see you as always for your unbiased views of 90's retro boxers! On boxrec it is now listed as for the vacant WBF title. So hopefully it wont now put holyfield off! Perhaps they should make it the seniors title?

 

Not too bad. Hoping to get tickets to the Haye ruiz fight in london. Could be a very good fight and a potential fight for Botha or holyfield should either win. Any news on the Rock still feel he has another good payday to go?!

 

Sounds good. Hope toney vs rahman 3 does happen. But if not there is plenty of choice out there for him at the moment. Maybe a couple of bum fighters to get him going and get him confident again first. then get a bigger name. Mind you like all the old boys they need to get a move on now.
