Would Manny Pacquiao have gone this far in his career without Freddie Roach?

Would Manny Pacquiao have gone this far in his career without Freddie Roach? Is Roach the right coach at the right time in Pacquiao's career development? Could have their been another coach better such as Emmanuel Steward, Buddy McGirt, and etc. that could have taken Pacquiao at this level or even further? Your thoughts please. :thumbsup

Roach made Pacquiao into the fighting machine that he is. He developed him as a fighter, body and mind. Pac would still be a one dimensional puncher if roach hadnt trained him.

 

i think at 135+, his career was managed very well with their opponent selection, and i think a lot of that is roach, and how he likes to pick people who play into pac's strengths, so i think he would have still been great, but i think roach has made the last few fights possible

So you think there's no other coach out there that could have done better? How about Lou Duva, Teddy Atlas, Emmanuel Steward, Buddy McGirt, Nacho Beristain, Finito Lopez, Goosen, and etc.? Thanks.

 

No other coach could have done what Roach did. Ive never seen any fighters develop so much under their trainer.

Pacquiao before Roach trained him was essentially a one handed fighter. He had a huge left hand, and he relied on pressuring his opponents and overwhelming them with speed. He had no real defense, no true lateral movement, and he was constantly leaving himself off balance and out of position.


Under Roach he has developed into a complete fighter. He can throw every punch in the book, his defense has improved immensely in every aspect, and he is hugely prepared for each and every opponent with Strategies A B and C, and can employ precise tactics in all his fights.

Roach values Pac like a son, I cannot imagine any other trainer doing what Roach did. Pac was so raw when Roach took him on. His development of Pacquiao has been quite literally years in the making. He is still developing him as a figher to this day.

NO. He would still be very good because his speed, power, athleticism and unorthodox stance and weird punching angles.

 

the speed, power, etc.... is from paq, you don't train that part your born with it.

did roach help make him into a great fighter? without a doubt, yes!

could another good trainer have done the same thing with paq? yes!

would every good trainer have done the same thing as roach did for paq? no!

Freddie Roach was his bread and butter! That makes him best trainer in this era.
