How much credit will Mayweather deserve when he beats Mosley?

he has never attempted to clean out any division above 135...he could fight Bradley or Maliggnagi at 140...he could also attempt to fight Margarito, Cotto, Foreman, Maritnez, Cintron, or Willams at 154.

Aside from Mosley and Pac, you're right, there's no one left to fight at 147.

 

Just feel that there has been a steady decline in his performances since Gomez. The guy who destroyed Judah and Gomez and beat Mosley wasn't the same guy against Clottey and Pacquiao. I fall into the group who feels that he will never be the same after the Margarito beatdown. Whether it's a confidence issue, physical, i don't know.

 

If he fights BOTH Mosley and Pacquiao on the same day he won't get credit, put that in your head and get used to it already.

First he was fighting Pac because he's ducking Mosley, now he's fighting Mosley because he's ducking Pac, then he will fight them both on one day because he's ducking Paul Williams.

Accept what you have or go ***** like a thousand whores on their periods elsewhere.

 

This has been discussed way too much and I don't want to argue over and over again, but IMO a 50/50 split, 10MM per pound penalty, 8 oz gloves and 14 day blood test cutoff is far from "avoiding" his biggest challenge.

 

Unless he finds a way to step in the ring with him, it will be considered an avoidance...how does anyone know what his true intentions were unless he actually makes the fights happen? In the eyes of many, he could have easily made this fight happen. The only reason why a lot of people have formed the same opinion of mayweather, is that May has given his detractors plenty of reasons to feel this way.

 

Fair enough and hopefully one of those two clowns backs down in the negotiations so we get to see it in November.

I think that's what pisses me off the most about this entire entanglement. It seems that both fighters are placing their reputations above the good of the sport.

I'm glad that other sports don't have to worry about great match-ups never taking place. You can always count on the Cowboys playing the Eagles twice a year in the NFL!!

And boxing wonders why the other sports are kicking its ass!!

 

That fake retirement at age 29 is a duck. Here's the list, all worthy opponents and money fights:

1. Paul Williams
2. Andre Berto
3. Antonio Margarito
4. Shane Mosley
5. Joshua Clottey
6. Miguel Cotto
7. Manny Pacquiao (no blood test required for 40 previous fights)

 

Even though mosley is past his prime. this is the best welter mayweather has fought.
So I think he should get a lot of credit.

I hate Mayweather, but i'll be very impressed if he agrees to even fight Shane, and doubly so if he wins.

We Floyd haters have to be fair and consistent about this.

 

The amount of credit depends on a couple things:
1. How he beat Shane
2. How Shane looks immediately after.


Lets not forget Shane will have been off for 16 months. Not good for a hot/cold fighter like Shane.

But if Floyd kicks his ass...he deserves a lot of credit.
