'Fairly even'? Your idea of scoring sounds very wishy-washy. You just hand the round to the champ if its 'fairly even'?
I had it 115-112 Dirrell as well, and that was with me giving Froch the benefit of the doubt in every close round. I can see how many might have scored it differently, but if you give the round to the fighter who had the most clean, effective punching, it was a pretty clear Dirrell victory. If you want to penalize someone for fighting ugly, or if you let crowd noise fool you into believing that glancing blows are clean punches, then I guess you could have scored it for Froch.
I don't want a fighter to be unjustly rewarded. The title shouldn't change hands if it comes down to a razor thin or close fight. Scoring should favor the champion.
Thats why we have even rounds, although judges are hesistant to use them because in reality its quite rare a round would be completely even. What you are saying is that any rounds that is won close by either fighter goes to the champion, and any round that seems even goes to the champion. That's some funny **** man, the champ is the champ because he's supposed to be the best and to prove it, not because he needs every advantage.
I look at it like the justice system in America, Innocent until proven guilty. The challenger is the prosecution. And.. any close but clear rounds go to who ever won them not soley to the champion. EVEN rounds should go to the champion.. because judges dont score even rounds anyway!
david haye broke his hand in the 3rd round plus he was fighting a man who weighed like 60 pounds more, he didnt play act or cheat to try and steal points dont get me wrong froch will get the knocked ****ed out by abraham and i dont really like the guy but i am so glad froch won
Maybe I was not clear enough.. a close but clear fight is one thing... but a could-go either way fight is what Im talking about.
