You keep mentioning money. And if you hgave no interest, why are you the one defending this match up? WHy aren't you up in arms that your fave is possibly going to waste what may be his last fight on a rerun that NO ONE is really asking for? Every frigging article around sais the same thing, Mayweather - Cotto.

To be perfectly honest, I don't think Floyd is too interested in enhancing his legacy anymore. He's accomplished alot in this sport, and it's still not enough for people. Right now, he's in a tough spot. Not only do people want him to take tough fights, but they want him to see him take punishment in those fights.

The guy is fighting guys who are alot bigger than him. I personally, have no problem with his fighting style, and enjoy seeing him outhink bigger guys out there. As a fan, I would like nothing more than to see him fight all the top guys at WW. However, the way he would need to fight to beat some of those guys would just result in him getting shitted on even if he wins. I'm not sure if he's too interested in taking on high risk low reward fights just to get shitted on even if he wins.

If no one is interested in this fight, then it will flop, and it will mark the end of these unneccesary fights. I don't see what the problem is.

I'm defending common sense and logic, as I always do. People don't exist just to make me happy, they exist to make themselves happy. Floyd has given me 11 years of great fights. If he wants to end his career just going after the big money fights, I can't get mad at that. I won't continue to buy these fights, but I'm not about to be up in arms. It's not me who's going out there risking his health.

Fair enough. Basically we are on the same page about this fight. I am just more adamant on fighters in their primes wasting fights. Fighters like FLoyd are NOT going to come around often. And after a weak4 years span of fights beneath him, it would be good to see him retire with a bang. Not a bling.:hey

:think you got a good point. They both want DLH and not each other.

PBF-Cotto is the best fight for boxing and the fans.

****ing DLH always got to be an attention ***** and disrupt things:twisted: Why dont he fight someone else like the Pavlic-Taylor winner.

It's time for De La Hoya's annual fight and he's trying to disrupt boxing once again. His skills and desire are on the decline and it seems he is fighting only for the money. Out of his past five opponents, he has really beaten only one. De La Hoya vs Mayweather set buy records because a lot of people expected a greater fight than what really happened. At the end of the day, it's really the fans that have the final say. I won't pay for unappealing fights.

No need for name calling. We can accomplish more by providing eachother with constructive criticism rather than degrading eachother.

Why bump this old thread unless YOU are going to post something new?
