The only luck he got was judges in Germany finally scoring a fight according to what had really happened.

    The fight wasn't even close.

I had him comfortable winner against Valuev.

Went over for the fight and be lucky to have given 2 or 3 rounds away.

Valuez was too slow and not very good.

Think Ruiz will go all out and try and get him out of there early so first few rounds will be testing for Haye but think he should have enough about him to stop him.

If he can't beat him then what chance against Klitshcko??

Depends the way you read a fight.

Valuev had little success but he was the aggressor and was pushing for the fight.

Haye came and tried to "steal" the fight - it was a negative performance.

I got no arguments with Haye getting the decsion but it was unconvincing performance :-(

He didn't even need to steal the fight it was so one-sided...

Apart from the final round - he didnt make a dent in Valuev. - Jim Watt had Valeuv up.

I thought Haye did deserve the decsion - but I would not have argued if Valuev had been given the decsion.

But it was a disappointing performance by Haye - and unconvincing.

Lennox Lewis or Mike Tyson or Vitali Klitschko in their prime - would have smashed a mediorce slug like Valuev out of there.

    Damn it.

I was hoping that it was going to be in London as I'm working down there at that time.

I see Haye as a Herbie Hide type heavyweight - but just with a smarter brain on him.

That's an opinion that many share but one rooted in speculation.

IMHO Jim Watt was scoring that fight how he thought the judges in Germany would see it, he mentioned it a few times during the fight.

He should have scored it how he saw it and then mentioned that the judges may favour the home fighter when Haye was boxing defensively, not legitimize bent scoring by 'fiddling' his own card to allow for it.

So you thought that Haye won clearly ?

Agression has to be effective to score points. Valuev wasnt landing at all, he was going forward but hardly laid a glove on Haye.

    I agree.

But Haye didnt do too much back - apart from making Valuev chicken dance briefly in the 12 round.

All I am saying is - it was a close fight - it would have been alot more pleasing if Haye had been much more positive and been more aggresive himself and at least tried to win it clearly instead of running away with it like he was Junior Witter against Zab Judah.

Is it really though? It's big and steep, but its an ugly building. When I've been it's been cramped and the seats not that comfortable. Sure, the atmosphere may be there but it does seem dated compared to the O2 and the other newer arenas.

Still, its easy to get to so I'm not complaining that much.

I though Haye won but that the style he employed could have cost him the decision in Germany. I didn't let it affect how I scored my card though.
