Froch/Dirrell: Another look.

Other than Dirrell's people, the ref and judges were the 4 non-British people in the building. If that isn't a hometown advantage I don't know what is.

Dirrell should have listened to his corner when they told him to stop the clinching. Froch had his moments but was beaten clearly in regards to clean punching. Nothing more to it.

 

Look, Dirrell lost.

Get over it.

 

1st time scored it 114-113 Froch
2nd tinme had it a draw
3rd time had it 114-113 Direll
This was the hardest fight to score and the hardest fight to watch EVER!

 

I've seen the fight once, and I'm not planning to look at it again... What a stinker that was!
For the record I believe I scored it 114-113 Dirrell but if I had been a judge I'd given my scorecard with tears in my eyes...
I hate to see the wrong guy win in boxing, but in this case Dirrell would have been the wrong guy even if he won it by a close margin if you obey the boxing rules... Looking at the whole fight, you must be extremely biased to say Dirrell deserved to take Froch's belt!

It was the first time I saw Dirrell and the 3rd time I saw Froch and could remember Froch's bouts beïng extremely exciting, and than this!
I never wanted to see a Dirrell 'fight' ever again like I never want to have to look at Kevin 'I survived 12 rounds against Vitali' Johnson again, what a disgrace these 2 guys are!

I'm gonna see at least one Dirrell fight though, against AA just to see him lying drooling on the canvas when Arthur releases one of his bombs!

Who cares if ****ing Barney Rubble was in the house. The 4 people that can decide on who wins weren't British.

 

I think he is trying to say is that crowd reaction can sometimes sway judges scoring. It happens. British or otherwise.

 

Yes, in a fight where there's a lot of action.

But not in a type of fight like Froch-Dirrell was.

 

Come on. Whenever the hometown fighter even makes an attempt, the crowds react. A guy can throw a punch and hit leather, and the crowd reacts like it was a bomb. Crowds react. Doesn't matter where. That's the homefield advantage.

 

I was there and thought Froch won by 1 point, which obviously would have been a draw if it wasnt for the ridiculous point deduction. It was the first time Id been to a live fight and I admit it was very difficult to score as the crowd reacted exactly the same way whether Froch caught him or not. Dirrell was far to fast for Froch, it was a terrible style match-up for him but for me Dirrell did too much running and clinching when he could have quite easily outboxed Froch and won by a clear margin. I would like to watch it back sometime and see if I score it any differently.

 

Why do that to yourself? It was just as ugly on television.

 

I did a thread on this maybe a week after it happened I had Froch win 114-113 if I remember correctly. But I also said there were 4 swing rounds depending on your style of judging that could have made the difference. Had you gave one guy all 4 its a blow out give a guy half its even give a guy 3 if 4 its close. Hard fight to judge. Odd mix of styles. Really comes down to what you like.

 

in all fairness the ones who lost in this fight were the fans! u gave rounds 1-5 direll, wtf! all of em? silly scoring! if u call that a winning performance by direll,then! its a fight, stand and fight! stop dry humping and going down on the champ!

 

i hope they never fight again! awful awful fight, froch won by 2 points in my book,direll should have got his arse disqualified! was he drunk?
