How can Mosley beat Floyd?

It seems that Mosley's jab has actually become decent after it being non-existent for most of his career. He's going to need it against Mayweather. I'd say that his plan should be jab often but keep it crisp. Lead with the right hand and try to be faster with it than Mayweather is with his shoulder roll to catch him with power he's never tasted before.

Personally, I think Mosley's chances will disappear if the fight makes it past the 5th round. Mayweather has been boxing beautifully for years and only makes mistakes early in fights when he's feeling things out. This is the only window I see for Mosley to win.

 

I think the key here is Naseem Richardson.
Under Richarson both Hopkins and Mosley looked great in their last fight.
I doubt Mosley can beat Mayweather, but ill be routing and Mosley can never be counted out, rememeber his last second 12th round KO few fights back...

On a serious note i think Mosley does have a chance i mean hes not P4P entrant for no reason i think he has to back Mayweather up if he can walk through some of PBF's bombs to land his own im sure he has a very good chance of dis-heartening Mayweather

As far as styles go, i don't know why most can't see why Floyd didn't want the Pac fight to happen. Pac would be very hard for Floyd to time coming in. It takes Floyd a couple of rounds to adjust to the timing of a quick fighter. With Pac, I don't think he would have the luxury of a few rounds. So stylistically, I think pac would have the advantage over Floyd in the early rounds.

Mosley would be the very opposite. Floyd would have the advantage in the early to mid rounds with his speed and ring generalship. He would be the frontrunner and make Mosely look old early on.

 

that's the key to winning this fight. That's a big if though. Mayweather has always had very deceptive power because of his speed.

That would be a huge mistake (ask Marquez). Mayweather will never be out boxed, and he will never lose in a counter punching contest. It's in these areas where Mayweather is in a different world to us. He's the boss. He holds all the cards.

I can only picture him being out done by work rate (with a little help of the judges). Much like what happened in the Hopkins/Calzaghe fight.

I'll let ya'll in on something....the only way to beat Floyd Mayweather is to knock him out...can Shane do it?? Yeah sure right shot perfect timing and it could be all over.

If you throw a 1000 punches against Floyd Mayweather your going to get countered 500 of those times. You won't see 250 of them. So good luck. The thing about it is the more aggressive you are. The more aggressive Floyd becomes but Floyd never gets reckless with his aggressiveness.

In the heat of the battle he'll throw his combinations. When everything whinds back down he'll go back to boxing.

Roy Jones+James Toney+Bernard Hopkins= Floyd Mayweather Jr. very hard to beat!

Yeah. This win for Mosley, if it's at all possible, will be solely about workrate and aggression. His chances of outboxing or countering Mayweather are practically zero.

 

I agree with this. Shane is a harder fight for PBF than Pac is.

Whilst I am taking in to account that Pacquiao is a different fighter now, we all noticed Marquez seemed to time his counter shots pretty well. I think Mayweather is more than capable of dealing with Pac's bizzare style of attacking. Yes he is going to be a handful in the early part of the fight, but I believe Mayweather will adjust and begin picking him apart in the second half.

Mayweather is definately going to be carrying Pac's kryptonite.
