Name your Top 5 Greatest Mexican or Mexican-American (or anyone of Mexican ancestry) boxers of all time. Please rank them also.

    Here's mine:

    1. Marco Antonio Barrera
    2. Erik Morales
    3. Julio Cesar Chavez
    4. Juan Manuel Marquez
    5. Oscar De La Hoya

Many of you may be surprised that I put JCC in third place, but I honestly feel that MAB and EM had a greater career base on the quality of their fights and wins. They certainly played a bigger role in boxing in my opinion. The featherweights divisions in the past decade and a half was the most important and competitive division in boxing. MAB's fights and EM's fights are often mentioned in conversation more so than any other Mexican or Mexican-American boxer. They are classic fights to be watched over and over again. I think JCC gets a lot of credit partly because he preceded MAB and EM. JCC was the greatest up to his time. If it had been the other way around, JCC's career may have instead been overshadowed by MAB and EM. Anyhow, I expect a lot of people to disagree, and I'm sure we will have some great conversation on this topic. :cheers

    Chavez
    Morales
    Lopez
    Sanchez
    Barrera

Morales rates higher than Barrera because he would beat more common opponents. Marco was koed by Junior Jones whereas Eric blew Jones away. I also believe Eric would have outworked Marquez.
