Take out arguably the greatest performance ever in a ring? Yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Lets just ignore that. It isn't as though his body of work is shallow without it.

Duran dominates him down the stretch in a barnburner. Duran at his best was unreal defensively, Chavez is underrated in that area too but they are on different levels.

So what? Plenty of people have jumped that many weight classes, more successfully to boot. Take away Duran's victory over SRL and you have a win over a very green Davy Moore and an ordinary Barkley. Duran got his ass kicked at LW, and he got murdered at WW by Hearns, outclassed by Benitez, quit against SRL. Watch his old fights. Duran was a crowder and a mauler, not nearly as accurate as JCC, his combinations weren't as good, and in all, he's just totally ****ing overrated. Because of one fight. A fight he wouldn't have even come close to winning had SRL not tried to prove a point by fighting Duran's fight.

Chavez had a much better chin, was more accurate and would probably deliver so much pressure Duran would have sudden gastro-intestinal distress and have to leave the ring after the 4th round.

Yeah. Then go ahead and take out one of JCC's fight too. JCC's status as an ATG doesn't rest on one fight.

Again, if SRL sticks and moves instead of trying to slug it out with Duran, he outclasses him and people talk about Duran as being one of the top 100 best. Maybe. But probably not.

Dont twist my words. Durans resume speaks for itself. I dont need to tell you who he fought. He fought EVERYBODY and fought the P4P best in every weight class, not to mention a number of ATGS. Duran in his prime would beat anybody. When he was motivated and on point he was competitive with anyone in any era. He beat a Prime SRL. He stood and trade with Marvin Hagler for 12 rounds. He beat Iran Barkley 3 weight classes above his best and reminded everyone what he could when he had a fire in him

Duran is a Top 10 ATG and a better boxer than Chavez in every aspect. Im Mexican but Im also a realist. Chavez isnt invincible and Duran would beat him. I have no doubt.

Without that, he's a titlist who got KTFO in his prime and got knocked down by the same guy in the rematch. He rarely made weight as LW champ, and was a true blue WW when he got his ass whooped by Benitez, SRL and Hearns (and Kirkland Laing), and he would lose every time out to Benitez, SRL and Hearns, because they're better fighters.

Yeah Leonard beat him every time out hey? Except that time they met both at their best, and he got dominated. Boy you really are a fool. There also isn't much shame in a guy who fought for an extended period of time at lightweight losing to great welterweights.

Chavez would have zero chance against nearly any great welterweight in history, does that make him a struggle for the top 100?. How do you think Chavez would have gone against Iran Barkley when he was blown up and past prime?

    Your a joke.

This would not be easy for Duran. I think Duran wins a close decision, but saying it would be an easy fight or an outclassing no way.

Chavez wasn't a welterweight, genius. Duran WAS, and he got KTFO and clowned by the other great welterweights of his time. CLOWNED.

Oh yes, there's shame in quitting. Walking out of the ring because you know you're about to get stopped the way Duran did... for a professional fighter there is DEFINITELY plenty of shame in it.

Sweet Pea: Shut up, you pedophile.

Jesus bernie did Duran **** your mother or something? You dont look like Roberto's lovechild though, your hairline just doesnt match.

Back to topic...the greatest matchup lightweight has ever seen..Duran just a little bit to skilled, a little bit to fluid, a little bit to awkward and a little bit to tough...Grinds out an exciting but clear cut 9-6 or 8-4 decision.
