Also Big punching LH texan Alfonso Lopez, Brandon Rios and 2 other Mexican Heavyweights Manuel Quezada and David Rodriguez. What other country can claim good representation in every weight class?? None not even the US which doesnt have ,many fighters in the lighter division.

I wouldnt call JMM elite. He is a very good fighter, but elite is Pacman/Morales/Barrera. JMM lost to Chris John and easily lost to Floyd.. He is very good, but you cannot be considered great because of an almost against Pacman.

Wasnt no almost about it i had him beating Pac by 2 points, only Mayweather has convincingly beat him. Chris John also got a gift. If JMM still hasnt lost it he can dominate and be elite at 135. In his prime id say he was about on Barrera and Morales level just didnt have the rivalry that they did, so his resume is just a tad lower than theirs.

More like 4 and a case for 5 buddy! The only way you cannot have Vasquez and Marquez in there is if you penalize them for their recent inactivity. In fact they were on every ones top 10 not to long ago. Also Margarito should definitly be top 15 still, and you can make a case for Montiel being in the top 25 hell even Guerrero and Soto are almost right there, and what if Lueveano can pull an upset tommorrow? Abner Mares will be their soon.

why include philippines in this thread. Their history is not as rich as that of mexico but for sure they are in their golden age unlike mexico.

2009-2010 maybe mexico's worst years in boxing

Because you made this thread and your agenda seems to be talking of Mexicos slump. But obviously if you look at the top 40 mexicans i listed,is still deeper than any other Country even almost comparable to the US.
Even if Mexico is in a big slump and Phillipines in their golden years well Mexican Boxing is still way way way more deeper in boxing talent. With top fighters from Straw weight to Heavyweight, unlike anywhere else.
