I think Oscar speed and movement cause Arguello allot of problems and win him a UD here

I'd say Arguello inside 12 rounds especially if DelaHoya eats the same type of right hands that Quartey landed on him all night. DelaHoya will make it a contest no doubt, but Arguello's straight right is a beautiful punch that should carry him to victory.

This would be a hard-fought contest no doubt, but I think DLH can edge it with his movement and defensive abilities.

140 and 147 versions of either, ODLH will be the younger, quicker man and it will be the difference. Also ODLH takes away every bit of AA's size advantage too and all of that will neutralize the difference in skill (Not that Oscar isn't highly skilled). If it's at a lighter weight with an even greener version of Oscar, I say Arguello takes it.

Edit: I voted ODLH by decision but I don't think a knockout is all that unlikely.

prefer to see a 135 match up. dont think it's a great fight at the weight. unfair advantage to oscar. who is a pretty big guy already.

oscar primed at about 147-140. while alexis was pretty much gone competativly at 140.

If he was gone competitively at 140, what was going on during the Pryor fight, man?

I think Arguello just because Oscar at 140 was still a green young fighter, sort of like how Ray Leonard was when he fought Duran.

I hate to say it because I'm not a DLH fan (to say the least) and love Alexis, but at 140 against an Oscar who was either peaking or close to it, (say the Oscar of DLH-Chavez I) I think Oscar might have been able to take this with greater speed, athleticism and size.

Alexis would have to either land a perfect shot on the chin or cave in Oscar's still developing body to take it.

That might have been his best weight although he didnt stay their long. He was still a big time puncher and as fast as ever plus a little more experienced then when he was at Lightweight. Kind of a perfect medium for him, although he was more Exp at Welter he hit harder at JW and even had more of advantage in size.
I think Oscar would probably stop Arguello around 11 in a great fight. Just a naturally bigger fighter and a decided edge in speed at 140.
I think Alexis might take Oscar at 135 though as Oscar wasnt quite as experienced,,possibly even stopping a young Oscar.

"PRETTY MUCH" after his first fight with pryor. he fought nobody who REALLY tested him. i guess hearns at light heavy would be on the same notch

    140 is not his division.

alexis is not as physically daunting at this weight either.

The gap between Oscar's athletism and Alexis's lack thereof isn't enough in my opinion. This will shape up to be a technical battle and Oscar's lack of experience is going to be more of a factor here than his better athleticism. And let's not pretend that Arguello couldn't handle athleticism -he just couldn't handle Pryor's brand of it which was off the charts. Pryor short-circuited Arguello, Oscar is not going to short-circuit Arguello.

I'm almost certain that it would look like a clinic at the end, after Arguello demonstrates a master-class in precision and placement.

Hard to forget Oscar in the "run mode" once he tasted Tito's power.

And if this is a 15 rd fight, Oscar is in trouble.

Arguello's precision is what will win him this fight i feel. That and sweeping the last five rounds due to Oscar gassing :rofl
