THose ex kickboxers fell like dominos. Look what happened when he fought someone a bit stronger. Round 2 Lopez gets flattened with a righthand.

I've never liked the way Lopez' kept his hands so rigidly high all the time, it's fine against basic fighters and one-two textbook orientated men, but he was often obscuring his own view of punches in those fights.Awkward, unorthodox punchers, or more sophisticated boxer-punchers that are able to throw from a lot of different angles would always have a good chance at taking advantage of that.

Someone like Moon would have obliterated the Lopez that got caught so much in those fights. Then again Moon could obliterate anyone who wasn't careful.

Still not worthy of a top 30 placing IMO

I know, hence saying someone like him.He was the first guy near those weights that came to mind as far as an unorthodox powerpuncher goes.

ID say Ricardo Lopez is probably the greatest PFP fighter ever under 115! Maybe Jimmy Wilde is right there.

What I saw in Lopez was that all that beauty and "text book" technique went out the window when he faced a stronger guy that upset his rhythem. I didnt see a good plan B from him and the reason I always thought he would have trouble if he moved up, even against fighters who werent as good technically but were strong and could upset his rhythm.
I dont recall the second fight as well, but wasnt Alvarez still doing a number on him, but just fouling a lot and losing points??

Nene Sanchez and Saman Sorjuturong are two very strong guys for that weight who were blown out by Ricardo Lopez.
