A tune-up against Marquez to assess how good he is looking then he should have his eyes set on clearing out the division, and only that. None of this going up in weight to fight Pacquiao or Mayweather again.
i thought he wanted a top 10 p4p fighter, marquez is a good name, katsidis is very beatable and senchenko is a win for hatton this fight will sell in england no matter what and i dont think hatton cares if it dont sell in USA as if he did instead of katsidis and senchenko he would have bradley and campbell he wants just one last fight i reckon where he wins, wins a version of a title so he can say im 11 time 2 weight world champion including 29 defences of my WBU strap
I'm not joking. Boxing fans need to start demanding more. We are getting treated like mugs. If Hatton wants a warm up fight then he can fight as the co-main event of a big card that GBP is putting on. If he is going to fight someone **** then don't make it a main event. For example Haye said Abdoul was him going through the motion to go 12 rounds. That is fine, just don't make it a ****ing main event. Mix in with a good undercard. Boxing cards should be delivering at least 5 quality fights. Instead we get one average main event and a totally **** undercard. Name fighters facing bums.
Sorry mate but you are ****ing dreaming as regards Hattons next fight being on an undercard. It'll never happen and no amount of "demanding" will change that, its basic economics/ market forces and nothing that a few posts on the Internet is ever going to change (and you know it).
Why on earth does he want to face Senchenko? For the bauble title? That is a nothing fight and if he loses he'd look a right plonker. Kat/Marquez would be good, particularly the latter.
JMM would be a great fight but not from Hattons point of view....he gets beat easy here. Katsidis is the fight for Hatton.....Ricky should win on paper....Katsidis has a punchers chance....and lets face it he will throw a lot of punches so its going to be exciting while it lasts
If hatton fights at 140 again, it should be Juan Diaz....here is a guy that got beat arguably 2X by Paulie(former hatton victim)....but in the record books has a win against paulie.....Put it in Las Vegas.... I think Marquez sparks hatton out late in a competitive fight... Katsidis Is not a bad match-up, but I really don't want hatton to comeback to 140 unless it is against Juan Diaz....Hatton just isnt healthy enough to drop 10 pounds a month now to make 140.... imo, I wouldn't mind a seeing a senchenko fight as a tune-up, I think hatton can beat him....and then retire against cotto outdoors at the new yankee stadium in new york....
Holt would spark Ricky out, hes a quality puncher !! Any decent top level fighter at 140 would spark Ricky out
Not being funny guys but the sheer lack of respect for Hatton's achievements on here is getting way out of hand. Yes you dont have to like the guy but all of a sudden he never fought anybody, gets beaten off a 135lber who isnt even top 5 in his division with ease, etc. Give it a break. Hatton has lost twice in his career to two elite fighters....no shame in that at all. But the people who are bitching about Hattons resume are the same guys who are pumping Witters career as a good one. As for the 3 fights stated JMM and Katsidis are good fights and are winnable for Hatton.
KCD I know what you're saying pal however I think Katsidis maybe too hard for Hatton, and in my opinion is a harder fight AT THIS TIME than Marquez is. (as daft as that sounds). I respect what Hatton has done in his career and also what he has done for the sport in this country however all this balooning up in weight and then killing himself to make 140 has caught up with him now. His day has gone pal and if he continues to pursue greatness he could end up seriously hurt which obviously nobody wants :good
:thumbsup You're right...British, Commonwealth, European, and World Champion is pretty **** when you think about it :deal
No problem Im not a big Hatton fan but alot of people are going overboard like he was never anygood as a fighter to begin with. Like Bailey's tune's last post its stupid. I agree though i would like to see him come back at 147, give it a go if it dont work out then retire.
Not saying it is shitty just the double standards on here by what used to be a select few which is turning into a fair majority. I just used Witter as an example.:good
Previously I would have laughed at this because I honestly think that people overestimated how much he weighed in between fights as 25-30Lbs on a 5'7" bloke looks quite dramatic. Talk of him weighing 185-200 were daft in my opinion. This time I think that people are right, he has blown up beyond anything that he has been previously and looks really ill...he will definately struggle to get back down to 140 unless he gets in the gym now and doesn't fight until June-July.
The problem that Hatton has now is his ego :good He wont take the likes of Holt, Diaz, etc etc. He wants the BIG fights. All roads in my opinion should lead to Junior Witter. 60/40 purse to Hatton. Would still fill out a big arena like the MEN and both should just say in the press conference. We are both ****ed now this is for bragging rights. Won't happen though :-( Hatton wants the likes of Marquez and Khan (both of whom at this stage of the respective careers would beat him). He won't move up to 147 without it being a 'name' up there and with the 'names' at 147 being quite handy and Hatton never having been great at 147 you'd see him getting beat up their too :-(
