Losing weight at that age is very tough to do especially when he had not been there in years. Also he did not gain over night. Pac moving up 2 weights was not as hard as Oscar moving down.

You must be the smartest one year baby on the planet being able to use the internet.

However you need to work on your boxing history. Pacquiao-De La Hoya was a regular welterweight bout.

There were heavy monetary penalties in place to compensate Pac should Oscar have weighed in over 147.

Maybe in fear of losing some of his beloved money, Oscar shed the weight too early on in his training and stayed around that weight throughout his training.

He weighed in only 145lbs and was unable to rehydrate to what he normally would have on fight night. He payed for it with the beating of his life in the ring.

WHo gives a ****!! Oscar is the one who wanted the fight. Oscar is the one who made the call on the weight. Oscar is teh guy who decided to come in at 145. Are you that ****ing stupid?

Right, not as hard as say JMM looking like a fish out of water 2 weights up? What is wrong with you Pac haters that you won't give the guy so much as an ounce of respect? It was a fair trade with Oscar going down 1 and Pac going up 2.

you are a ****ing moron, you stupid ass son of a stupid *****. that fight was contracted at 147, 3 pounds below the 150-pound limit for DLH-Forbes. Dlh came at 145, not pac's fault at all.

Many great fighters like Jones Toney Moore Walker Tunney moved up in weight without their opponent dropping to meet them. I think it was a great win for Manny and a huge mistake for Oscar. I'm not agreeing with the thread starter I'm just saying Oscar made a big mistake cutting all the way to 45 and only getting in the ring at 47.

Oscar fought Forbes at 150. so for Pac the limit was going up 12lbs, for Oscar down 3.

yes just like JMM versus floyd where Jmm moved up in weight and floyd wouldn't give a **** about going down lol.

the problem with pac-dlh was, pacquiao was moving two weight classes already and at that the fight was being called a circus saying they wouldn't watch pac get KOd by a big DLH. If pacquiao were asked to move up as far as 154, it would have been called downright criminal, no one would buy the fight and policemen would have been posted in the arena ready to arrest dlh should he kill pacquiao lol

the worst part is Pac but such a beating on Oscar I wouldn't be surprised if he had won the fight regardless of the weight.

I actually picked Manny to win the whole time. And in the case it was JMM mistake to get in the ring with a guy who did not make weight where it was Oscar;s mistake to agree to the weight or not gain over night.

Dude, seriously? Pac was basically a super featherwight fighting at 130 for the last 3 years before moving up to lw to fight Diaz, then to ww for Oscar 6 months later.

Yea... ur ah what? You mean to say it was easier for Oscar to go down 1 weight class than for a super featherweight to move up to welter in 9 months? No wait. You mean its obviously easier for Pac to go upto ww. For reals?

He's not the only guy in boxing to move up several classes to win a belt. Armstrong did too 126 to 147. And obviously Manny filled out great and Oscar was drained.
