Barker hasnt beaten anyone worth a shite anyone with half a brain can see that, his record is made up garbage.

 

Have a look at the other thread to see my response on that. This isn't about Barker, it's about Duddy and Lee, who are, with all respect, totally overhyped by MOST Irish fight fans; which, Barker really isn't. People accept that he hasn't done anything yet but that he appears to have the skillset to advance.

I.E Barker vs Pavlik would get an educated response from Barkers fans I suspect.

If you put Duddy vs Pavlik, Duddys supporters would not be able to see past Duddy destroying Pavlik then moving all the way up to Heavy and still shipping punches and destroying everyone. Based off the back off a 1st round stoppage over......who exactly?

 

Who gives a **** about duddy or lee? i have to laugh at assuming i like lee or duddy because i dont. Barker has not beat anyone in the top 50 in the world yet he is world class ???

 

i wonder why so many british posters hate duddy

actually i do know its because hes irish

but if he ever wins a title you can bank on it that the brits will claim him to be british just like they claim mcguigan and collins , ive even heard padraig harrinton referred to as being british by the brish media

McGuigan is the guy who claimed he was British.

Also, Duddy never will win a title because he's shite. Maybe the reason Brits hate on him is because they use their eyes to watch him, rather than listening to terribly biased commentary.

And to be fair, the reason some fighters get slagged off is because they're not bad but not great yet get talked up by that fighters fans as 'the second coming'.

Hence why a lot of people hate on Khan; nothing to do with race, but rather a backlash against narrow-minded fans who see him as infallible.

 

Well he'll be in the same boat as Lee and Duddy, who barely needed to step up to get shown up:good

 

lee is a young lad , he was rushed to soon , he would take vera in a rematch

duddy was going to through a lot problems with his managment , he would take lyell in a rematch aswel

i knoww duddy is not world class no one claims him to be not like your average british poster , who thinks barker and khan etc are the second coming of sugar ray leonard

 

I replied on the other thread mate, we seem to share similar opinions on the matter to be fair:good However, the excuses you make for those fighters are what puts people off; at the end of the day, they showed their deficiencies.

Lee isn't that durable.

Duddy can be outworked.

When you couple that with any suggested move up in class it's obvious to see why people think they might fall short.

 

fair enough , i just think the hate for duddy is more to do with his nationality then anything else , why would anyone have hate for the chap is beyond me , he is an exciting fighter who seems like sound chap

 

lee hasnt been down as a pro yet , he has shown that he has good power and its his defense that lets him down ,

even if they dont win world titles they are exciting fighters , no need to hate them for it

ireland real prospects are lindsay, macklin and mccloskey imo

 

Agreed. I personally don't think I should keep my opinions to myself because they are 'exciting', if they're being talked up I'll say my piece.

They're average, simple as. If proven wrong I will gladly eat humble pie mate:good

 

If barker can take a world class punch i will eat some humble pie myself but until then lets cut the **** about barker being world class.

 

I like Duddy a lot, hes an all action fighter, seems like a good kid, speaks well and is no ugly ****er, which always helps.

I'd love to see him fight someone of note in 2010, anyone interested in some of his back story would do well to seek out the couple of articles that Thomas Hauser wrote on Duddy, well worth a read
