Put it this way Julian Jackson was a 154 pound version of foster, except foster had more skill.

    Foster by 6th round KO.

Foster was more of a cross between a MW Hearns and Jackson at LHW. The height, reach, overall physical advantages and punching accuracy of Hearns (minus the legs he had at the lower weights) combined with Jackson's unbridled, thudding KO power. The kind of power that knocked even the most durable opponents dead when he landed flush.

"hype" No, no hype with Foster. He was one of the greatest Light Heavies of all time. Check out his light heavyweight fights though, not his attempts at Ali and Frazier at heavy.

Hype can be defined as the expectations placed on an unproven fighter, not a proven all time great like Foster.

What do you make of Foster being the only man to stop the iron chinned Henry Hank, when Foster was green none the less.

What other chins did he smash that were durable, or well beyond that into the granite zone?

    Believe he buckled Ali's legs?

Despite the size disparity obviously what he done the Tiger is just unbelievable considering how brutal it was and how tough & proven Mr Ihetu was.

True, that was a ridiculous stoppage.

I was looking for some more obscure shout outs honestly, besides two guys a 15 pounds north of their best weight in Hank and Tiger.

Well Chris Finnegan..the cagey Olympic gold medalist..had a pretty damn good chin. He proved it in their fight aswell, hanging with Bob for a very long time before just eating to many shots.

Obliterating Eddie Cotton deserves a shout because Im pretty sure Eddie was only ever stopped on cuts previous to that...that being said he was very long in the tooth.

Great fight. Obvously we'd see plenty of skill on display by both men. I just can't help but think that at some point Foster would catch Jones with something big, and the lights would go out.

that's the unforunate truth about foster, is that aside from his KO of tiger, most people remember him for his ill fated attempts at heavyweight. he simply didn't have the frame (notably the LEGS) to move up but at 175 he was damn near invincible, even well past his prime

I have to say, video to video, Jones definitely impresses more. Tomato can opponents or not, the man's got style...
