I think Pavlik at the top of his game would dust Macklin. He might do well operating just below that level though.

Interesting to see how much work he actually gets in with Roach with the Pac-Clottey fight coming up and Khan - Whoever not far behind.

 

Macklin would probably last longer based on the fact he's got the better chin. But Macklin doesn't match Pavlik for power, nor does Macklin have the skills to outclass Pavlik.

Macklin's a decent fighter, but hasn't really proven himself.

I hope the fact he's with Roach now enables him to fight Stateside, in which case I hope he gets a fight with Vera.

 

Why would he fight vera? surely macklin is levels above him?

 

- Exposure in the US.
- Warm up fight before he takes on an American contender.

It's not like Macklin has fought anyone miles better than Vera.

 

Vera has a name, not a bad idea for an introduction to the US market

When macklin beats pirog which is a WBO eliminator for pavliks title thats it he is mandatory why vera?

 

Might be a good move, will help him if he's trying to get exposure in America, but it's risky to change trainers so close to such an important fight.

 

Why jump into a fight with Pavlik when he isn't ready.
