Floyd moves really fast, he moves in bursts, and couple that with his reach he may be faster than Pacquiao in terms of those one or two moves, be it a punch or defensive block, head movement or a lean. But Pacquiao has the edge in sustained activity.

    Power is another discussion.

    This.

Floyd speed has an illusion of being faster than it is because he pull his punches as fast as he throws them. While Manny sort of "let go" of his punches because his other hand is ready to follow through, after which his other hand is again ready to follow through, and so on and so forth.

Hand speed, Pac for sure. He has kept his speed going up better than Floyd has. Last time Floyd impressed me with his speed was the Gatti fight. At 147 it hasn't looked as phenomenal. Pac on the other hand always leaves me in awe when he throws those lightning quick combos. Have a look at that youtube vid. What a freak. And you know with Floyd, it's the quickness of his reflexes and his reaction that makes him look so fast, not his actual hand speed.

    what you mean fast hands?
floyd only throws one punch timing and yes it is fast but not in flurries.
    pac throws in combos.

defensive fighters dont have fast hands, they just know how to time the opponents attacks and hits them with a quick counter.

bottomline: pac is faster than mayweather.

From the fights with JMM, I'd have to say Mayweather. The way he is able to hit and then move his body out of the way is amazing. He would lean back, counter right and then lean to the right side all before JMM knew what happened. Floyd fights lazy, he uses his head and reflexes alot so he doesn't have to be too active with his speed but when he needs it, he has more than Pacman.

    Ok just found this thread;
Here goes Pacman has raw power and pace, Mayweather is a fairy in comparison .....

But i have to say Pac in truth has faster combo's as above, single punches goes to mayweather.....

Floyd potshots and he puts all his speed into that lead right or lead hook so it is very fast. Whenever I see him throw combinations, it doesnt flow freely and doesnt come anywhere near as fast as someone like Pac. So combo's = Pac, potshots = Floyd. As for powerpunches speed, Pac's straight left has some pretty insane speed, equivalent to any power punch Floyd can throw.

:deal Mayweather is in a different league in terms of speed at 147. Paccquiao seems a little slower. I watched the mayweather Marquez fight and your correct when you say mayweather could litreally move his entire ****ing body out of the way by the time marquez had time to react.

For example when marquez would move his lead glove to feint like he does, mayweather would snap back come forward, crack marquez flush with a right hand and be directly behind marquez. The only time marquez had a chance that night was when he made PBF exchange. Pacquiao has to do the same.

    pac throws quicker combination hits

floyd throws quicker jabs and normal shots because pac usually throws with more power slowing him self down. if floyd threw with more power which he does rarely then he would be slower

imo pac has more speed in terms of hand and foot

another reason why floyd wants no part of pac
