wow, mayorga's chin could take some punches, he took flush shots of oscar, mosley, tito, lewis, forrest even vargas, his ability to absorb punishment was amazing, it is such a shame about his poor defence because if he'd have had one he could've gone on to be an elite fighter.

ye but how many clean flush shots did they all land before hand? i mean seriously them shots would've ko'd most fighters with the first few punches!

    He would never be elite.
    He had terrible technique.

The biggest mystery to me in his career is how he beat Forrest. Not once but TWICE!!!
That just doesnt make any sense to me....

Say what you want....his unorthodox, berserker style gave both Mosely and Forrest fits with all those wilds shots coming from weird angles...and dude had power at 147!... Yeah his technique sucked but he's beaten some pretty good fighters....I miss Mayorga personally because win or lose, he was always entertaining.

Mayorga was one of the most exciting fighters. His coming out fight was against Six Head Lewis, and his stamp amongst the best was the first Forrest fight.

I think his lack of discipline held him back.

Neither one of those fights happened at welter which was clearly his best weight class.

Mayorga was a simple slugger and got mad when you missed him , Oscar the class act gave him a boxing lesson.

Mayorga is one of my favorites never a lack of excitement. And if you dont come to fight he does. Also probably one of the ballsiest fighters out there watch the Vargas fight he taunts yells makes gestures.

He may have had a good chin, but he had no other qualities. He threw wild punches, had little to no head movement and didnt have an elite boxing brain to compete with the A-level fighters

    He ****ed up Forrest.
    He beat Forrest again.
    He beat Cory Stinks imo.
He had an extremely close fight against Mosley.
    He beat Vargas.

Mayorga has been a very dangerous guy throughout his career.
