So I guess a current fighter like Michael Jennings is not a bum because he approached contender level status through some bull**** WBO ranking.

Well he hadn't blitz anybody in a decade because he happened to be fighting top level fighters who were still very durable like Hagler, Hearns rematch, Duran rubber match. That's not a hard concept to understand.

Now your just lieing to yourself. Mullings was a journeyman straight up and down, and again you cant say for sure that Leonard was shot because again he retired after the Norris fight whereas Norris continued on fighting and got beat 2 more times to two more fighters we all know he would have handled easily when he was still world class. But I expect you to say he could have lost to those guys in his prime also just so you can save face.

Yeah Norris had no legs and could not get off any combos and lost his reflexes. Leonard still had those things in his possession when he fought Norris but it was no where to be found because Norris neutralized it all with his skills. **** if Felix Trinidad wasn't undefeated and in the prime of his career against Hopkins, people would think that Tito was shot because of how Hopkins neutralized all of Tito's strengths. Certain fighters have that ability like Hopkins, Roy Jones and Terry Norris in his prime.

This is an "overrated" thread, not a "grossly underrated" thread.

44 seconds? the fight was just barely getting started,

besides that, Dunphy says "both fighters"

As much as I love Cuevas, I never said he was fast

You talking about that third fight? I was supplying you proof from two authorities that he wasnt shot, not one bit. That's what Sweetpea keeps telling me but Farhood and Ryan proved him wrong!

and I'd like to thank you for giving me 4 other sources that back my claim. :smoke

I just re-watched the first two rounds only, and in just that time I heard:
    1. Tim Ryan say they're clearly not the same they were in their first fight.
    2. Hagler saying they've lost a lot of hand-speed, with Clancy concurring and saying it's a result of their weight gain.
    3. Hagler again remarking how much Leonard has lost his speed.
    4. Clancy saying Leonard's quick combinations are gone and he's only looking for one punch at a time.

    You, sir, are deaf!

    So?

But you already said Hearns was fast, so it's irrelevant.

I'm talking about HEARNS' fight with Duran.

Sorry, but you might recall you're claim was:
...which the sources I showed you clearly contradict.

That's because it was early in the fight. Fighters always start off slow but Ray accelerated midway thru and stepped on it late, pouring it on with the combinations

    Hearns looked pathetic

If a weight gain slowed Ray down that would have to mean the weight he came in for Norris - 154, leaves him without excuse

That's right, "bums" are the fighters that he beat to pad his record with.

So you think Kevin Howard and Lalonde were top level fighters then?

No I'm not. I asked you before to substantiate your claim that "losing to Keith Mullings is an indication of being shot," and you haven't done that.

Which would only prove Norris was shot as a result of being KO'd by Mullings, not before it.

 You mean the way you say Leonard would've lost to Norris in his prime to save face?

    Just like Leonard had.

No, it was nowhere to be found because it wasn't there, which is the only reason those traits would be nowhere to be found.

No they wouldn't, because his strengths were still visible despite being neutralized; which Leonard's would've been had he still had them.

No, no fighter has the ability to make an opponent's traits outright "disappear."

    :patsch:roll:

You JUST said those comments weren't there; now you're saying they are there, but here's some excuse for them.

You can't go more than one post without changing your story.

No, not "always." RAY didn't start off slow against Hagler, Benitez, Price, etc., etc.

I guess that would explain your point about Leonard being "farther ahead" on points in this fight than in the 1st. :deal

Because fighters magically regain their speed after losing it? :nut

You mean aside from Cuevas being knocked backwards with a quick left hook at :16, or the quick flurry Hearns threw about 20 seconds later? :nut

Yes you did, when you responded to GreatA's post.

    Yes I am.

    :deal

:patsch I just ****ing QUOTED you. Are you that pathetic that you need to lie about a quote that's right here, imprinted on the site: http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showpost.php?p=5975658&postcount=342

Mike Tyson. End of. Over-rated H2H, over-rated dominance, and a resumé lacking in the A level win(s) that other great HW's have.
