I wouldn't rank anyone that high on the back of 1 good win.

Its standard championship rules - If an unranked fighter beats a ranked fighter they automatically get ranked and by right they should take the place of the opponent they have beaten.....

    :dealAll small print of course:deal

Here is the IBF ratings rules - I assume the EBU will be very similiar

    8. If a top fifteen (15) rated boxer loses to an un-rated boxer then the
rated boxer shall be lowered or removed from the ratings. The unrated
boxer may be considered for a rating in the top fifteen (15)
    9. If two boxers are rated in the top ten (10) and compete against each
other then the following shall apply:
    A) If the higher ranked boxer wins, he may be elevated in the
    ratings.
    B) If the lower ranked boxer wins, he will take the position of the
    higher rated fighter.
    C) If the higher rated fighter loses he shall be lowered in the
    ratings.

The key part there is "may be considered" so even though he beat the then ranked #1 i don't think his recent form and overall record merits him getting ranked #11.

Greetings, myself and steve were talking about finding a spot to watch the Brian Magee fight on Saturday in Belfast. Preferably in the city. Sort of an unofficial supporters club night. If anyone has any ideas drop me a line.

i agree that lindsay has fought a much better quality of fighters in matthews and appleby and this is gona hav 2 b the year 4 pajo 2 step up 2 the plate and prove his worth. he'l obviously hav 2 beat a few ranked fighters this year 2 b considered for a pop at linsay, but i think he will, and having seen both perform a good few times and im not forgeting the difference in quality of opponents they each hav faced but i think pajo is bigger and stronger than lindsay and easily as good technically! i supose we'l jus hav 2 wait and c, and with any luck over the coming year it'l happen. its nice 2 c an argument 4 both sides and i can c y it sways more 4 lindsay due 2 a proven record and far better ranking but it makes 4 a gud debate!!!!!!!!

boxing in ireland is a joke one show every three monthes or somethin like that promotors should put on more shows less the price of the tickets so people can afford to go and then maybe ireland will produce some true chamoions not manufactured ones

its not a joke , there was 19 shows or something last year the most in decades

the amateur game is probably the best its ever been with so many champions and the pro game is flying aswel , with 2 european champions(it could be 3 this weekend if magee wins ) and 1 world titlest last year in dunne

what do you expect from a country with only 6 million for **** sake
