One of my favorite fighters ever, tremendous defense and great counterpunching ability, unfortunately his prime didnt last long but at his best he was a joy to watch and a master craftsman who could do almost everything in the ring.

37 wins,3 losses and 17 kos,he defended his WBC bantam title 7 times but like i said his prime didnt last long and he insisted on fighting at bantam when he was having trouble making the weight and that lead to some of his losses.

One of Colombia's ATGs. Wish there could be more Colombian fighters with that type of skill.

Thanks! I'll be sure to add it to my fights to watch list. It might squeeze into next month though as I'm kinda packed and am trying to do them in order.

Yep. More Loras, less Mirandas. :deal

Actually, the current crop has some decent fighters, but really no standout pure boxers. Yonnhy Perez, Urango, Torres, Zuniga, Pitalua, Berrio, Julio...

Almost all sluggers and pressure types.

A shame when you consider the nation's rich history of skilled combatants: Lora, Cervantes, Valdez, Sugar Baby Ramos...

Yep your right that currently Colombia is going through a good moment. i will say Urango is probably the more accomplished. But none of them are elite. They are good fighters not Great. You can add Tamara to the list after beating Viloria.

I just wish Colombia gets some more interest in the sport so that it can become a latin power house. Not to where Mexico and Puerto Rico are because thats pushing it but on that direction would be nice.

Your right about them being too one dimensional at the moment considering the past champions. One thing is for sure: They can all bang.

Dont sleep on Yohnny Perez who for me is probably the best active colombian fighter after beating two very good fighters in Mabuza and Agbeko in two great fights.the guy can fight.
