Honestly no one knows if JMM "belongs" at WW. People say he doesnt belong there but its because he got dominated. If he would have lost to baby bull at 135 people would have said he didnt "belong" there, but he didnt. So now he's a blown up light weight. Pac made the transition from 126 to 130, 135, 140, 147, JMM was doing the same thing but agaist tougher oppostion (meaning JMM took on Casa/Diaz to Pacs David Diaz) but then JMM fought Floyd. Whos to say JMM doesnt suceed at 147 if he takes on someone other than PBF? Many will speculate but none know for SURE.

 

Ok...who do you think would win if Pac and Marquez met NOW at 147 pounds?

I think pac would not only dominate but would win by knockout something PBF could not do.

JMM may well fighht at 140 next and if he looks good then people are going to have to look at his fight with PBF in a whole other light.

 

If he goes on to fight and beat Mosley and Pac gets defeated by Clottey, then yes he'll be the consensus P4P number 1. But if he fights someone else, I don't know.

Floyd hasn't really been active enough to merit the top spot. A masterful performance against Marquez isn't enough because despite the fact that he was the number 2 guy P4P, he was a lightweight going up into welterweight for the first time.

Talentwise, sure he's one of the best of this generation. But talent ain't everything. You gotta fight the fights that should be fought.

 

Yes, by default. But even the biggest Floyd fans gotta admit that JMM at WW is not the same athlete that Pac faced at 130 and 126.

 

I regarded the FM that beat Hatton as superior to any version of MP but I just had to see if he looked the same vs JMM to decide who was no1.... he looked the same to me so in my mind, FM is the no1 fighter in the sport... it would have been nice to see it decided in the ring but someone walked away to face a much lesser opponent rather than take his ass whuppin, that act confirmed to me that my choice was right all along.
