Yuriorkis Gamboa has the fastest hands in all of boxing...

pac has faster when he was in the lower weights and he was doing them against tough opposition

though, i am a gamboa believer. his combination of speed and power was never seen in featherweight since pacquiao

 

I couldn't agree more. I'm not sure if Gamboa has the fastest hands in the biz, there are others to consider (Berto, Mayweather Jr., Mosley, Pacman), but, Gamoboa certainly is the most explosive.

 

Ever heard of Meldrick Taylor, Hector Camacho, or Roy Jones....they threw more pucnhes and were a bit faster in their respective prime although Gamboa has impressive speed, just not legendary.

 

Man, I agree, he is the fastest boxer I have ever seen .period.

I'm pretty sure there is faster guys in the lower classes...

The guy is impressive but he is not faster than Kahn nor Pacquiao or Mayweather.

They are all bigger so probably slower too...

 

Raw speed is more natural in a small guy like Gamboa, he is definitely on that speedy Leonard/Jones/Hearns plain where the round or straight punches blur and have definite impact, coupled with mobile feet.

Meldrick Taylor was ridiculously fast, possibly the fastest because of his busy-ness but there was more shoe shine to his combinations, something that even a guy rather lightly regarded like Freitas can do occasionally to the body without real damaging effect with lightning speed.

Pac is fast as hell too with power but I honestly have never been that impressed with Amir Khan's raw speed. I feel like his straight shots are not even as fast as welterweight Hearns' were, who had much longer arms. I am going to watch more of his early fights right now to see if it changes my opinion. He was just too big and young for Barrera, who isn't that fast of a little guy anymore.

I am a Gamboa fan and have been since I first saw him on FNF. I think he is a very good fighter and will be a tough fight for anyone...with that said ESB doesn't waste anytime overrating people. The guy has yet to be in with someone who is capable of throwing punches back at him or to his body to slow him down. Its much easier to look fast when your not getting hit back. I don't think he's been past 10 rounds yet and he has only had 17 fights. He shouldn't be considered the ________ever of anything. When you see Pac throwing fast combination in the 11th and 12th rounds against Marquez thats true speed. When Floyd consistantly outlands people for 12 rounds thats speed. I mean Berto is a prime example of how fighters can fade. His punches werent coming nearly as fast in the 12 against collazo as they were in the first 4 rounds. This is obviously natural and expected for most guys but because of it I can't call him the fastest ever. Meldrick Taylors punches in the 12th round against Chavez were just as fast as they were in the first round. Lets see Gamboa do something other than beat a club fighter before we give him any sort of crown to wear.
