I dont believe Froch deserves the granite chin label he hasnt took enough punishment agianst high level fighters IMO. Andrade was dropped once that I am aware of by a beautiful punch and was only KOed by the body shot so I think he deserves to keep that name. Shaky chin is alot different then glass though so I dont think its any real big knock on the guys. Pavlik got that after Taylor nearly stopped him in the 2nd round although thats really the only time he was hurt in his career. I love Cotto but he deserves his the excuse at 140 was the weight draining when Corley and Torres hurt him but hes been hurt several times at 147 to albeit agianst high level fighters. I think people have varrying views on the chin. For me I dont consider Roy Jones a glass jawed fighter he was never seriously hurt or KOed until his mid 30s after the weight dropped that took away his leg movement. Most people say oh he has a china chin though.
nope, never happened. i remember one good hit that caught pavlik off balance had made him do the hokey pokey with his right leg, but almost knocked out?
Froch stayed down because McCracken told him too. You can see that he has his senses virtually straight away and is even nodding to McCracken. So that really is a pointless jibe!
Probably Gamboa, but I think all of them have at least average chins. All of them have proven that they recover quickly as well.
Other than Gamboa (who to the untrained eye might seem to have a bad chin), why would any of these guys be mentioned? All of them have taken tons of flush shots from big punchers without getting hurt.
Chad Dawson - Knocked down by a jab, knowed down by Eric Harding, knocked down by weight-drained Adamek, nearly KO'd by feather-fisted Glen Johnson. Miguel Cotto - ***** street and down by Ricardo Torres, multiple times hurt and down by Margarito, same with Pac Kelly Pavlik I dont think has really been that hurt from his 3 knockdowns but Dawson and Cotto certainly have.
