Marquez doesn't have the reach or the speed (or the reflexes anymore) to land clean on Khan. This is a mismatch. There are plenty of guys who could beat Khan, but this is another opponent designed to make Khan look good and stay away from his fatal flaw.
You're probably right. All the physical advantages lie with Khan(with the exception of his chinny chin chin, but all the experience lies with JMM. For Khan, he has never been in the ring with a guy like JMM, while JMM has been in with bigger, far meaner animals than Khan. JMM is past it, and may indeed be heading down the road, but until someone proves it, other than a too big, too fast, too good PBF, I'd still say he has more than just a "puncher's chance" vs Khan.
I wasnt trying to dissrespect marquez achievments, but is he really one of the 100 greatest boxers of all time regardless of weight ? that seems (to me) a little bit of a strectch but I was just being pedantic bro, its not really all that important. At his best he is /was an excellent technician no question !
If Marquez were to step in the ring in the shape and with the sharpness he had against Diaz, I wouldn't give Khan much chance. Would anybody? If he's gotten much slower, then Khan might jab and scoot his was to a UD. Wouldnt be surprise if its a robbery either. They want to make Khan a name, and will stack the deck against JMM.
Marquez looked terrible against Mayweather but looked like the true warrior that he is in his two previous fights (and only two he has fought at 135). I think he will be very competitive with Khan at 140. Like I said, I wouldn't be surprised to see it go either way. Khan definitely has the physical tools for it to be a mismatch but I'm not ready to write off JMM yet.
Come on, you can't seriously have thought that was a serious post? It's depressing how dumb some people on the internet are.
He's a noob...... Sarcasm is hard to read on ESB. People are indeed dumb are the internet, so anything is possible. Funny post though.
He only looked good against Diaz because Diaz is also short, feather fisted and on the slow side, and he still went life and death with a guy who Paulie Malignaggi just convincingly beat twice in a row. Even if that Marquez shows up, he'll still get his ass kicked, unless Khan gets sloppy and leaves his chin hanging out there. I don't think the OP was being sarcastic. I actually agree with him. Khan is just too big and too fast for Marquez, and Marquez has regressed a little too much. The early to mid 00's version of Marquez, blown up to 140, would have had a chance, but not this one.
