It was the other way around with Manny Pac. The RING gave him no credibility or chance at all against any of the greats save maybe 1 or 2.
to be fair that list was pre-oscar, hatton and cotto. at the time he was a greatly improved brawler, with a complete skill set but one that was also very much outboxed for great periods by marquez.
I love how that knucklehead picks Fraud to stop Walker on cuts, hes basing that on what?the guy fought more than 100 times from Welter to Heavy and his only stoppage on cuts happened cause of an headbutt but the idiot that wrote that **** makes it look like being stopped due to cuts was something common in Walker's career.
That was by far the worst piece of **** Journalism i have ever seen about boxing. How does RING get away with that ****. If we all remeber PBF had trouble with Castillo. How the **** do they even consider him beating them guys. Yes i agree PBf is Talented but come the **** on how does he beat some of these guys. Did i read he would have a close but win against Charley Burley.
I know eh? GBP start promoting Floyd's fights and this conveniently comes out? Nevermind Floyd has avoided fighting the great fighters of today. Now he's beating all these ATGs? **** GBP for using the Ring as a propaganda tool. The article should've been how Floyd would fare against Pac, Mosley, Cotto, Margarito, P.Williams, Pavlik, Cory Spinks, Tszyu, Winky, Bernard Hopkins.
Floyd competes with anyone of these fighters....you cant tell me one of the most talented fighters of this decade could not hold his own in some classic fights...the list is fine with me...i would pick Floyd to have a winning record in that line up
I can understand Sweet Peas disgust on this subject though. Keith Like PBF beating Armstrong is a bit rough to Hank. I mean say they were to meet at 147. Here is PBF's wins at 147 Sharmba Mitchell Zab Judah Carlos Baldomir Ricky Hatton Juan Manuel Marquez Heres Hanks at 147 Barney Ross Ceferino Garcia Lew Feldman Davey Day Al Manfredo Bobby Pacho Pedro Montanez Paul Junior Raplh Zannelli Fritzie Zivic Tippy Larkin Sammy Angott Thats not even close to naming them all. PBF has beaten 5 names at 147 the biggest name of the lot being Marquez who by the way is a natural Featherweight. Hammering Hank beat Angott Barney Ross Fritzie Zivic and Lew Feldman all of which were Great fighters.
have i seen allllll of them nah ....but i have seen the majority...and fact is Floyd is far more skilled and polished than most of the fighters on the list and is smarter if not as smart then all of them in the ring....so excuse me for thinking that he would himself go into the ring KNOWING their strengths and weaknesses and playing to his strengths while negating theirs. People on here act as if Floyd has no clue in the ring....anyways does he win em all...course not but i can see him winning some of them too.
But people like you forget also that Armstrong 8 to 10 times a year. And also didnt have the technology and training that fighters get today. So put those fighters of yester year in boxing facilities of today with less fights and lets see how PBF would do against guys that knew what headbutts and elbows were and hardly ever got knocked down. They were tough not like fighters of today. You have to look at it both ways. Yes PBF is Fast he has skills but but Henry Armstrong or Jose Napoles they are not exactly Ricky Hatton or Zab Judah now are they. I am really starting to hate these PBF fans that think he is the best thing they will ever see. Until PBF is really tested when i mean tested is when he isnt the favourite is backs against the wall thats when ill make my judgement. I mean guys like Hammering Hank at the end of his career fought a Prime Ray Robinson and never was dropped and it went the distance. Until say PBF does something silmular like he is the one thats 36 or 37 years old fighting the Prime Champ then we will see how good Floyd is.
