Like Calzaghe-Lacy the constant beat down virtually ended the other mans career.

I'm surprised he got that much....I remember when Jardine beat Liddel he only got like 7,000...plus like 7,000 from a sponsor or somethin..so like a total of 14 grand

Imagine what could've happened if Ace hadn't broken his hand in the second.

In rd 4 or 5 Loiseau dropped Franklin with a punch, but other than that it was a protracted and grisly ass-kicking.

It might have been over earlier and been less punishing...

All this says to me is how far away the UFC is from decent pay packets for its fighters.

Man these blokes fight for peanuts..

I got my first MMA fight here in oz in 2months time and im getting 3thousand for it..

While I agree that the UFC woefully underpays it's fighters, 32,000 in 2006 wasn't a bad figure. The UFC still wasn't rolling in the dough at that point.

Ace was pretty high profile at that point. I don't care if it was 2006, if you're a big name mma fighter and your making around 30k a fight and getting like 3/4 fights a year max, i don't think the money is worth the immediate and long term health risks especially in light of the profits made by the people paying you (UFC).

Actually the UFC has stated that the number released are infact the numbers the fighters get. UFC pays the taxes before they hand the fighters the money so what you see is what you get.

UFC isn't like Boxing, fighters get a salary, cash from other jobs etc, the fight is only a part of their pay package.

    Totally agree.Its a joke really..

MMA aint a tickling contest..As i mentioned before i have my first fight soon.

If pay days of 30 odd grand is all i got to look forward to when im a top 5-10 in my division worldwide then **** i better keep my work boots for once a retire.

Dont take my above assumption that i will become a worldbeater too serious.Just using a example..

MMA just aint up to scratch in the salary department..

    Bull****.

This is what White and UFC fanboys constantly say to try to hide the fact the fighters earn less than a high school teacher for putting their lives at risk.

Try paying a Peruvian lady $2 a day to clean your house, mow your lawn and look after your kids, then explain it away by claiming she's free to pursue sponserships from Douchebag T-shirts and energy drinks. The judge will not be amused. I know.
