You cant help but feel good for Jesse after watching him go into a fight expecting to just get blown out the water only to completely reverse the tables and even almost stop Stevens. I guess this just shows that in boxing you just cant rely on your power to win you fights. Stevens talked himself up all the way in the build to how he would take Brinkley out in no less than 50 seconds LOL only to taste the canvas himself during the fight and suffer a pretty embarressing beatdown by somebody who was not even expected to last 2 rounds. This thread is for anybody who appreciated that fight last night. Jesse Brinkley may never become a world champion but he showed everyone that in boxing you can win without having that equaliser in your fist. :good
Yes it was really and inspiring perfomance by Brinkley. I wasn't completely sure what to expect but I'm pretty happy he got the win.
I am also happy for Brinkley...this fight might be his finest hour when he looks back on his career. The fight is on film and he can she his grand kids one day...good job!!!!
Binkleys an exciting fighter. His late kayo of Bonsante in the last round of the contender was great too. Too bad the rematch was the worst robbery I have ever seen (honestly).
Brinkley had a good night. But what this fight really showed me was how horrible a fighter that Curtis Stevens is. He made Brinkley look good.
Exactly. Stevens almost never used his jab for the first half of the fight, only trying to knock down Brinkley with his left hook. Brinkley looked good against Stevens but I hope he doesn't go against Bute, it wouldn't be pretty...
havent seen the fight, but i recall brinkley from the tv show. He impressed with his determination and willingness to go the extra mile, whenever it was neccesary.
Stevens looked good in that first round winging that left hook, but you can't throw the same punch all night and expect to win. great performance by brinkley too bad i lost 300 vcash cause he couldn't stop em.
Why? Because I am not creaming all over myself over a guy who beats a loudmouth jackass who clearly isn't even a C-level fighter? I have seen him (Curtis) fight before, and I knew he was gonna get his ass kicked when he started talking about how he was gonna KO this guy in the first 50 seconds. His power isn't nearly that good, and Brinkley can take a decent amount of punishment.
always easier for those to comment who havent done it. im not a fan of stevens **** talkin and all but he can say/do whatever he pleases.
