Fighting Harada - Top 25 ATG?

Harada would be somewhere between 35-45 I reckon. In the company of Mike Spinks, Holyfield and Holmes, amongst others.

Still can't be bothered to actually consider individual placings.

 

Top 25 is a very exclusive club. It's basically reserved for only the very best 2 or 3 fighters in each weight class. I think Harada might just miss out on that; but he should be top 40 for sure.

 

Why not?

He lost a very close, debatable decision to Kingpetch; and that's after having beaten the **** out of him in their first fight.

 

kingpetch is not even top 300 of all-time.
spinks should always be higher than harada. to put him higher than spinks is ridiculous

 

And having seen the second Kingpetch fight - which you no doubt have - you'd know that Harada was robbed.

Spinks probably should have lost to Eddie Davis, who is not top 500.

 

Yes he is; he was a record-setting 3-time flyweight champ with 3 separate wins over ATG HOFers at that weight. He's easily in the top 15-20 of his own weight class, nevermind a "top 300."

 

yes, he was robbed in the kingpetch fight but he lost atleast 5 rounds there.

as for rose, notice that rose used long range boxing and some timely combinations in the end to steal close rounds.

Spinks was clearly on a different bracket compared to harada

spinks was dominant until round 10. I value damage done in score fights and that is what boxing is all about.
spinks clearly won it by 8-4 at the very least

as for harada, how would you explain in losses in his own country in his prime

 

he was robbed but he was not dominant. And the harada that showed up that night is not worthy of top 75 ATG

 

i do not have jofre in my top 35 so that is why i can not put harada in the top 40

 

Lionel Rose is a boxer type, so it's not surprising that he chose to box Harada from some range. Doesn't mean it was a height or arm length issue as you're implying which won it for him. Rose was simply at the top of his game that night, whilst Harada wasn't, and that's why Rose won.

No way was he dominant until the 10th. And 8-4 is much wider than most have it. Please don't bother to mention Joe Cortez or Larry Hazzard to me.

How do i explain it? I explain it by a mix of him facing quality fighters throughout his whole career and not being the most dedicated fighter - which of course is a mark against him.

Spinks edged that fight with a late rally....He had all sorts of trouble for the first 10 rounds. They were pretty much on even terms after 10, probably even a slight edge to Davis as he had the momentum at that stage.

You got it backwards yet again, like your memorable Arce came from behind to beat Carbajal gaffe.
