Fighting Harada - Top 25 ATG?

Those who saw him live rave about him. Is there anything shocking in believing them as to his ability?

As for his resume, how many fighters on his resume do you know about to denote them average?

Or is that a formula for you: Haven't heard about them = average.

 

is harada really a boxer-puncher. I know he is tagged that way but why does his KO record doesn't show that he is a puncher.

Even his 2 bouts with jofre, i do not see jofre being in danger of being knockout

 

But Saddler was another fighter that didn't take non-title fights so seriously. What's more he was winding down when Elorde beat him. When they fought for a title though, Saddler beat him.

Elorde has a lot of good wins actually, his resume is very good. The key draw back for him is his lack of dominance. I have him outside my top 100 but he has an argument for being included.

 

I wouldn't class Harada as a boxer puncher either. More of mix of boxing and swarming.

But in any case, Harada DID have Jofre in trouble in round 4 of their first fight. And a few times later on too.

 

Harada has never been tagged a boxer-puncher...He is one of the best examples of a swarmer you will get, more often then not they are fairly light to average punchers.

Harada was also extremely versatile...Showing he could be a great boxer at range and off the back foot.

Again asero...you are just chucking out statements hoping one will be right and for the most part they havent been.

 

Jofre is seriously wobbled in round 4 of the first fight, kudos to him for having to know-how to survive, there are few people worse I can think of to have swarming all over you like Harada.

Fighting Harada is defintily an ATG and a top 60 guy, but Manny is hands down the greatest Asian fighter ever. Any body who thinks different is either living in the past,delusional or :nut

 

Since Hatton I've held the opinion that yes, Manny is the greatest Asian fighter ever.

Anything can happen yet though. But if he were to retiretoday, I'd hold Manny in higher esteem than Harada. But Harada was a fantastic fighter, no doubt.

 

Harada was better than Pacquiao IMO, even if his accomplishments aren't quite as extensive due to the greater number of weight classes and for the most part inferior quality of fighter around today.

Harada legitimately beat: Eder Jofre X2, what should've been a win over Johnny Famechon (for a third lineal title in 3 weight classes no less), Pone Kingpetch X2 (as the rematch is considered a robbery by all accounts), Alan Rudkin, Jose Medel, Dwight Hawkins, Bernardo Caraballo, Antonio Herrera, and a young, undefeated Hiroyuki Ebihara when both were up and comers.

Pacquiao has legitimately beaten: Marco Antonio Barrera X2, Erik Morales X2, Miguel Cotto, Ricky Hatton, Chatchai Sasakul, Lehlohonolo Ledwaba, and a shot, weight drained Oscar De La Hoya. He never conclusively beat the best fighter he fought when he faced him in Juan Manuel Marquez. Compared to Harada's wins over Jofre I think that proves the disparity in class when comparing both at their peak, ability wise.

Pacquiao's a great fighter. On paper accomplishments, he's tough to beat, but once you delve a little bit into those records you'll see that there's a lot more to it than the 7 titles in 7 weight classes bit. Unless of course you're just a *******.

 

I agree.Manny is more comparable to Ebihara as a fighter to me, which is NO insult btw before i get jumped on.since he has added more to his game, he's become quite similar in style, a bit like a less technical, more physically gifted version.


Harada, Park and Chang are the real phenoms of asian boxing to me, just ridiculously talented from an early stage, without the need for serious dedication and improvement gaind through better training etc

Ebihara is one of the most underrated fighters of his generation incidentally.

I think among Asian fighters, Harada was just on another level. Well - Harada, Chang, and Moon do it for me. I always like to watch their fights...

 

About 15 to 20 spots below Lopez and about 20 spots above Galaxy.

 

Not a *******:nono In fact i cant stand the *******s on ESB. But i do rate Pac quite a bit higher than Harada. You study alot about Boxing and i respect your knowledge on a lot of the fighters especially the lighter guys but you are biased towards the oldtimers and underrate modern fighters.

IMO most of the greatest fighters are old timers but there are many guys in recent years who are elite and just as great as the elite fighters from the past Pac,May,ODlh,Jones,Hopkins,Chavez,Lopez,Holy, etc etc are would be elite fighters in any era.
