This has been discussed. By rule, the decision was just. And you're talking to somebody who thought it was the absolute wrong decision.
he won the decision of the fight understood. but he got knocked out in that fight. we woudlnt be having this converstaion if he lost to andrade the first go around like he should have.
andrade was a poor man's version of margarito. he was just hyped coz he almost Ko'd Bute in the first fight, which speaks so much of Bute's caliber
Before I guess, I get in depth on this, I need to know how you mean he was knocked out. Mainly because the finish was so screwy it's hard to tell what was what at the end.
yeah but to be honest he was down for mor than ten seconds. and on top of that dude couldnt even walk on his own. 9 out of 10 refs would have called it
I´ve been impressed with Bute lately ...hes a very technically gifted boxer and very entertaining to watch. He deserves credit for his second win against Andrade. Andrade tried to put even harder pressure on Bute in the 2nd fight and it backfired and Bute showed good vision and counterpunching skills. Bute might not win against AA or Ward but he has a chance against Froch and Dirrell, but it would be close fights. Kessler is not the same boxer anymore and I dont see him causing Bute any problems at all. So Bute is a TOP 5 boxer at SMW still rather impressive.
I agree he was very impressive in the second fight. stepped up to teh challenge big time but overall i dont put him up there with the elite
Marlon clearly ****ed up there. I don't remember the actual count but it was well over 10. He was standing up. Once he's up, he's up by the rules he's good to go. Whether he could've stepped towards him is unknown. All that the rules state is that he has to be up.
The only thing that can be debated is if the ref should have even let him take the last few shots. As I remember he back peddled defenselessly into his corner before the final KD.
He was undefeated before Kessler, showed intense heart through 12 rounds of a one sided beating against Kessler then rebounded with impressive wins over Yusef Mack and Robert Stieglitz. Andrade is/was a good fighter. Don't buy into the BS.
You're right. I guess we have to tear him down to discredit Bute. I still don't see how people can be unimpressed with him after taking out Zuniga and Andrade back to back with body shots no less.... geez.
The only people who are upset by the first Bute/Andrade fight do not know the rules. The ref ordered Andrade into a neutral corner, and picked up the count. Andrade came out of the corner before the ref told him to. That stops the count: PERIOD!
