The promoter , manager and the fighter are the ones that have to agree who the fighter fights. Noone else. The trainer is essentially a contractual employee of the fighter for the fight perse. The fighter can sack the trainer for a particular fight (i.e. ODLH sacked his 6 years trainer Mayweather Sr after sealing the fight with FMJ)
