Yeah agreed, totally. I think it would be a crazy fight to watch with such quick fighters. But I just don't like the stupid idea of Khan being knocked out by Paulie. Yeah Prescott knocked him out, but Prescott has a KO Ratio of nearly 80%.

True, it's unthinkable for Paulie to knock Khan out. However if this happens, boy would Khan's world (and his fans) come shattering down. But like you said, it's almost an impossibility.

Whilst it'll be a good fight between the two, I get the feeling that Khan will have nothing to gain by beating Paulie. I mean I'd personally give him lots of credit (as Paulie is a crafty fighter), but you know for a fact the firm critics will accuse Khan if cherry picking a feather fisted bum. A Paulie fight may become a no win situation.

Khan has more reason to fight JMM and Maidana. Both guys provide a sterner test, and will guarantee respect and recognition from the public.

Yeah exactly! People are saying he will lose against him, but if they fight and he wins, then he will be accused of handing picking fighters again. But you know, I think taking this fight and then fighting Marcos afterwards wouldn't be a bad idea, he can't get out of fighting Marcos anyway because isn't he like a mandatory? So yeah. I think people just need to be patience and that fight will happen without a doubt, unless Khan wants to give up his belt, which I doubt.

Manny was even worse against Morales. He didn't even blame his trainer, he blamed the gloves, and some blood test he did. He took zero responsibility for the defeat, but we don't get on his back about it...I'll give Paulie a free pass on this one...especially considering McGirt IS terrible.

Before we're all quick to knock Paulie...he's fought Hatton, Cotto, Diaz x2, and other solid contenders at 140lbs. Who the **** has Amir fought?

How can Malignaggi still talk so much trash after the beatings he received from Cotto & Hatton?

I'd love it if Pacquaio took a month off just to fight him and beat some respect into him, either that or offer him up to Pavlik.

malignaggi is pathetic - he just goes around making rude comments about better fighters trying to goad them into giving him a pay day.

he is just a slickster who got out boxed by ricky hatton

It's true, Paulie has achieved absolutely nothing outside of losing to Hatton. :nut

As regards their respective resumes, Paulie's resume after 23 fights amounts to little more than a shellacking at the hands of Cotto.
Amir's resume isn't particularly impressive, but I guarantee by the time he's 29 he'll have more to show for it.

He has achieved more outside of his one-sided loss to Hatton, but not much more.
He was immensely impressive when he defeated Ndou for the title.
He was a little fortunate to keep it when he fought Ngoudjo & looked shite.
He looked crap again in the rematch with Ndou.
Went 1-1 with a fat Jaun Diaz who has no business fighting above lightweight.
And of course showed some real balls, when Cotto outclassed him.
Not exactly a stellar list of achievements is it?

    1. in all fairness I was under the impression that in the N'Dou rematch and Ngoudjo fights Paulie broke a hand .. which would in part explain for the poor performances on his part

and 2. I always think Paulie for the most part sounds pathetic in most all of his interviews, particularly when he's talking about other fighters (i.e. Pacquiao, Hatton, Ngoudjo) take even this example with Amir Khan.

as for those who boast that Paulie "keeps it real" .. look at this thread title for pete's sake .. with Devon Alexander lining up to fight Juan Urango and Tim Bradley resting after a December fight what Big fish are there for Paulie to fight, lol?

Paulie needs Khan not the other way around don't get it twisted. if that JMM fight doesn't go through Amir can always turn to his mandatory Maidana

where Paulie has who again? (Campbell maybe? or if he can make the weight Judah would be a decent all NY scrap)

but unless Malingaggi is dead set on fighting Amir Khan and can't get it next, IMO it would be in his best interest to line up Maidana next .. because provided Khan gets by JMM

Paulie would have some good leverage if he could win the WBA Interim championship

**all under the impression that JMM-Khan happens and Paulie would want to stay active

unless he feels waiting out Alexander-Urango and or Tim Bradley would be worth it.

I agree because, granted it was in 2008, but with Hatton beating Paulie the way he did, I would think Khan would want to carve his own legacy rather then pick up scraps so to speak.

Maidana is the interim champion and JMM old but a big name .. either vs Khan brings a level of newness so to speak

where Malignaggi-Khan one of the first thing that comes to mind is "why is Khan fighting someone Hatton wiped the floor with?"

yeah that's what I don't get .. then again I guess he needs to run his mouth to stay relevant.

At least we know these 2 don't like each other so there's a good chance we might get a match in the future. In the end it comes down to the fighters signing the contracts it's up to them if they want to take the fight. Khan isn't as experienced as Paulie, but this is a better version coached by Roach and if he got ko'd by Paulie he really would be a fluke, but I think Khan can beat him.

Khan said his illiterate ****, before paulie said his piece....Khan needs to fight maidana or paulie....the boxing community will continue to think khan's carear is smoke and mirrors if he doesn't(which I don't think this btw)....Beating aging fighters in Marquez or Hatton will do nothing for him...

I think it is quite apparent khan is chasing money, fair play to him...but it does nothing to silence the large khan-hater community...
